More Than A Joke

Now, she was getting surreptitious looks from Charlenne as she sat at her workstation. Casey didn't make an issue of it and just tried to ignore it.

However, by lunchtime, Casey had had enough. She got up and went over to Charlenne's desk.

Charienne looked like she was about to bolt for the door. Casey smiled to take any threatening overtone out of the confrontation.

"Charlenne, did you want to ask me something? You have been looking at me every five minutes this morning."

Casey was still smiling and her tone was friendly and light. Charlenne looked like she wanted to crawl under the desk and cry. Casey, still smiling, shook her head.

"Its okay, Charlenne, what is it? I promise not to bite."

Casey tried not to laugh at her own little inside joke. Charlenne looked up at Casey and gave her a nervous smile.

"I'm sorry, Casey. I didn't mean to do that. It's nothing."
