102 Freesia

On the 17th floor of the dungeon, the music continued to play. Altair was still lying on the mat in his special pose, while Ais and Lefiya were intently watching the battlefield not far away.

The situation on the battlefield shocked them.

A Level 1 newcomer, Saeko, was wielding a single blade, and despite facing the floor boss, the giant Goliath, she had established an overwhelming advantage!

Goliath's strength as a floor boss lay in its massive body, immense power, and terrifying attack range. For low-level adventurers, these attributes made it nearly impossible to fight against. Low-level adventurers typically lacked strong stats, had average speed and reflexes, and their attacks often couldn't penetrate Goliath's tough body. For many, facing Goliath meant being unable to match its power, evade its attacks, or deal meaningful damage even if their weapons landed a hit.

This was Goliath's pure statistical advantage over lower-level adventurers!

When Altair had defeated Goliath in the past, he hadn't even made physical contact with the monster, instead relying on high-explosive bombs and rocket launchers to take it down from a distance... a clear exploit of his unique abilities. But Saeko was different. She was a purely close-range combatant.

If she were an ordinary Level 1 adventurer, Goliath would have been an impossible opponent. However, Saeko had a trump card... Altair.

The moment Altair activated the BGM Freesia, and collapsed onto the ground, Saeko's already S-rank stats were instantly boosted by 200%. Her attributes now rivaled those of a Level 2 adventurer and even approached Level 3. Saeko's combat style, which prioritized high speed and agility, allowed her to effortlessly dodge Goliath's attacks.

Goliath's massive body made its movements appear unbearably slow to Saeko. She easily evaded its strikes, closed the distance, and began attacking from beneath its body.

Unlike armored land dragons, Goliath's body lacked any hard scales, relying instead on thick muscles. Its weak points were much more exposed.

Saeko didn't need Altair to remind her how to kill this floor boss.

With her enhanced speed and agility, Saeko darted under Goliath, slipped past its legs, and moved behind it. She then sprinted up the ice wall, defying gravity as she ran vertically. Within seconds, she reached a height of ten meters, launching herself off the wall and landing on Goliath's shoulder.

Now face-to-face with Goliath's head, neck, and eyes, Saeko began her assault. Goliath barely had time to react before she had inflicted seven or eight deep wounds on its head.

One of its eyes was pierced, an ear was severed, and a slash landed across its throat.

Blood gushed from Goliath's wounds, drenching its upper body, but these injuries weren't fatal. Though Murakumo was a fine blade, Saeko's swordsmanship was still relatively standard. Goliath's tough hide and muscles prevented immediate death despite the significant injuries.

Saeko understood this perfectly. If defeating Goliath were so simple, there would be no need for Altair's buffs. In the past, Altair had used long-range weapons to target Goliath's throat.

Even so, Saeko's attacks had significant effects.

Goliath's continuous bleeding and the loss of an eye hindered its combat effectiveness.

Still, Saeko wasn't one to drag out a battle unnecessarily. Like Altair, she preferred quick, decisive strikes. After a series of disruptive attacks, she shifted her focus to Goliath's vulnerable back of the head.

In human anatomy, the back of the head is a weak spot prone to fatal injuries. Goliath, being a humanoid creature, likely shared this vulnerability.

This time, unlike her earlier slashes, Saeko drove Murakumo deep into the back of Goliath's head. The blade easily pierced its tough skin, breaking through the skull and penetrating its brain.

Goliath roared in agony, thrashing violently as it tried to shake Saeko off. Clinging to Murakumo's hilt, Saeko struggled to maintain her position, but Goliath's movements flung her around like a ragdoll.

Fortunately, Goliath's resistance didn't last long. With its brain damaged, the massive creature staggered before finally collapsing forward.

Saeko, still perched on Goliath's enormous head, fell alongside it. As they hit the ground, she pulled Murakumo free, leaping off the collapsing giant and landing gracefully.

She flicked the blood from her blade with a practiced motion, resheathed it, and stood tall.

The floor boss of the 17th floor, the giant Goliath, had been defeated by Saeko!

Goliath's body slowly began to disintegrate, leaving behind only its massive magic stone, a testament to its status as a floor boss.

"Oh~~ is it finally over?"

Altair stopped the BGM that had echoed throughout the 17th floor and slowly got up from the ground. The debuff effect of his skill was truly unbearable... reducing 90% of his attributes and forcing him into a weakened state. Lying there, Altair felt as though he'd been hit by a truck and rolled several times; his whole body ached.

This kind of sacrifice was not something any ordinary person could endure.

Fortunately, the discomfort disappeared the moment the buff ended. Altair recovered completely, and the weakness vanished as if it had never existed.

Rising from the ground, Altair glanced at Saeko, ensuring she was unharmed. Then, he turned his gaze to the enormous magic stone left behind. It appeared identical to the one that had dropped the last time he'd defeated Goliath.

"Looks like everything went smoothly."

"Mm, Altair-kun, it's all thanks to your help that I was able to defeat the enemy so easily. I'm grateful to you." Saeko said as she approached Altair. She wrapped her arms around him and leaned in close to whisper her thanks in his ear.

"There's no need to say that between the two of us."

After their brief embrace, Altair walked over to the magic stone and stored it in his spatial pocket.

"All right, let's head to the 27th floor now."

Packing up the tea and desserts he had initially prepared, Altair led the group quickly toward the 27th floor.

There, he had something special planned... a set of wind-based sword techniques prepared just for Ais. Altair was determined to make her enjoy herself!
