"This was a bad idea," Lenora said, crawling ahead.
Bits of blackish golden tar flowed across her as she carefully or rather, disdainfully moved about in the sea of the semisolid medium.
Not very wide, and not very bright. The tunnel was narrow enough that she couldn't turn her head and look back at the elf behind her.
Drifus followed, with a clip on his nose which made sure he breathed from his mouth. "I told you… even if we somehow manage to actually get in… then what? They'll know immediately from the smell."
"I know, I know!" Lenora grumbled but then froze… "Bluegh!" She gagged for a couple of seconds… "I think a drop went into my…" she almost sniffled. Almost because she knew there was a good chance, she could inhale the stuff if she sniffed hard enough. Eyes watery, she could cry.
And though she wanted to cry, she didn't and just continued struggling to move.
