The chaos in the city's main district was far worse than Vonn had anticipated. It was absolute mayhem compared to the west.
Bigger monsters rampaged through the streets as if they'd appeared out of nowhere. At first, their entry points seemed baffling, but then Vonn's eyes locked on a colossal flying creature overhead. The creature was massive—its size enough to fit at least five mansions. Vonn swallowed hard.
This was the largest monster he had ever seen. What made it more terrifying was its ability to blend in with the sky. Its skin, a pale white tinged with sky blue, made it nearly invisible against the heavens.
"I've got to work," Vonn muttered to himself. He leapt across rooftops, his movements swift and precise. A wyvern swooped toward him, but with a swift swing of the ice sword he conjured, he sliced it cleanly in two. He absorbed the souls it left behind without breaking stride.
