Getting attention

Ryoto stood in front of E Block alongside the other examinees, while Jiro was stationed in a different block since they came from the same place. Ryoto didn't mind it too much; in fact, he was quite satisfied with his block. With no major characters in his Block, he felt free to let loose as much as he want.

As the participants were getting ready, Present Mic's booming voice echoed from the speakers: "AND START!" While confusion spread among the crowd, Ryoto activated < Weapon Creation >, conjuring a vibrant purple light construct in the shape of a katana. He dashed forward into the Block.

"WHAT'S THE MATTER? THERE'S NO SUCH THING AS A COUNTDOWN IN A REAL BATTLE! RUN! RUUUN! CONSIDER THE BATON TOSSED!" Present Mic shouted, noticing everyone was frozen in confusion. His words snapped the examinees out of their daze, and they finally scrambled to enter the block.

Ryoto quickly faced his first opponent: a one-pointer robot. Without wasting any time, he charged toward it, dodging a punch aimed directly at him. With a quick and precise motion, he swung his light katana and sliced off the robot's head. Feeling the rush of success, he continued his hunt for more opponents. Whenever he encountered more than one enemy, he used his light katana constructs like a projectile to throw and quickly replaced the thrown ones with new created ones, keeping his attacks quick and powerful.

After some time, Ryoto began to notice that his approach wasn't the best for finding opponents quickly. Realizing he needed a new strategy, he used < Anti Gravity > on himself. It allowed him to effortlessly fly to the roof of the tallest building in the block. Once he reached the top, he took a moment to catch his breath and survey the area below.

From this high vantage point, Ryoto activated < Weapon Creation > again, forming a sleek purple bow construct. He pulled the string back as far as it would go, feeling the tension build. With careful aim, he created an arrow ready to fire. As he released it, he watched it soar down into the ground below. This new method of attacking from above allowed Ryoto's kill count to rise steadily at a quick pace.

. . . . . . . .

Inside the observation room for the exam, the staff members responsible for the exam monitored various screens displaying the examinees' performances.

"We have quite a few promising candidates this year," Principal Nezu remarked, eliciting nods from the others.

"The kid from the Tenya family and the red-haired boy are doing quite well in Block B," noted Sekijiro Kan, also known as Vlad King, as he pointed out Iida and Kirishima.

"There's also the girl in Block D. Although her quirk isn't offensive type, she's using it quite creatively," added The Hero Snipe, observing Jiro as she skillfully used her quirk to take down the bots.

"In terms of taking down the robots, the two boys from Block A and Block E are really outpacing everyone else," Space Hero Thirteen remarked, and the others nodded in agreement. They were all impressed by how effectively the boys were destroying the robots, taking them down left and right without much effort.

"While they may be ahead, the boy from Block A is a bit too aggressive. He seems focused only on smashing the robots and isn't paying attention to anyone else," Aizawa commented, rubbing his temples as he watched Bakugo's performance. "In contrast, the boy from Block E is not only using his surroundings to his advantage but is also helping other examinees who are in trouble."

"Well, he can learn how to behave during his time at the academy. That's part of our job," Professor Nezu replied, trying to reassure Aizawa.

"As long as he's not in my class, I guess it's not a big deal," Aizawa muttered, to which Nezu pretended to concentrate on the screen, only adding to Aizawa's headache.

"Speaking of which, what's the quirk of that handsome from Block E? It seems like he's using quite a few," Midnight chimed in, her sultry voice dripping with interest as she licked her lips.

"His name is Ryoto Tsutsumi. According to the quirk registry, his quirk is called 'Counter.' It allows him to gain opposing quirks whenever someone uses a quirk nearby," Nezu explained, a mysterious glint in his eyes.

"That's a really powerful quirk. He could excel in any area, whether it's underground hero work or directly in the public," Midnight commented, clearly amazed.

While everyone was busy discussing the other examinees, the eyes of the number one hero were fixed on Izuku from Block B. Noticing that Izuku hadn't scored any points, All Might began to grow increasingly anxious.

'Young Midoriya! Perhaps I should have given him more time to adjust to his quirk. But his body wasn't ready to handle it before. Just do your best, Young Midoriya! I know you can do it!'

Leaving aside All Might's increasing tension, Principal Nezu decided it was time for the real test.

"Well, it looks like we've reached the final stretch! Let's see how the examinees react to the zero pointers! Mwahahaha!" Everyone sweat-dropped at the sight of Nezu laughing maniacally as he pressed the button to release the zero pointers.

As soon as Nezu activated the button, the zero pointers began their rampage across all seven blocks, sending the examinees fleeing in panic—except for two boys, one from Block B and another from Block E, who stood their ground.

. . . . . . . . . . . . . .

Ryoto was leisurely racking up points by shooting at various robots from the roof when the ground shook,, making everyone look to the north-west. From his high vantage point, Ryoto could clearly see the zero pointer starting its destruction.

"Wow, that thing is huge! Principal Nezu really has a serious grudge against humanity, huh?" Ryoto chuckled as he watched the zero pointer easily knock down buildings around it.

Quickly making a plan to make the most of the situation, Ryoto focused on creating a special weapon using < Weapon creation >. Once he finished crafting it, he activated < Anti gravity > to make the weapon float above the clouds in a wide-open space within Block E. With the katana he had created previously in his hand, Ryoto took off, flying straight toward the zero pointer.

While everyone else was running away in fear, many people looked up to see Ryoto flying straight toward the Zero pointer. Some were impressed, while others mocked him for charging toward Zero pointer since it was just a waste of effort. When Ryoto finally reached the zero pointer, he began to attack it, trying to hit various spots on the massive robot. Unfortunately, the reach of his katana wasn't long enough to deal much damage.

Realizing he couldn't hurt the giant robot much with the katana, Ryoto decided to fly away, making sure the zero pointer was still following him. He carefully guided it back to the open area where he had set up his floating weapon. Once the robot was right underneath it, he landed on the ground and used his < Stillness Manipulation > to freeze the zero pointer in place, preventing it from moving an inch.

Although Ryoto also couldn't move while using < Stillness Manipulation >, it didn't bother him too much in this case. Because before activating the quirk, he had turned off the < Anti gravity > effect on his weapon, allowing it to drop straight down due to gravity. A moment later, the sword—about the same size as the zero pointer—came crashing down onto the robot, destroying it without much trouble.

"Well, I guess that was quite a finishing move!" Ryoto said with a satisfied grin, proud of his performance.
