The Emperor’s Gaze 1

Jason tilted her chin up, forcing her to meet his eyes. "You're everything to me too, Emily," he said, his tone low and deliberate. "And because of that, I want to work hard to protect what we have." As he said this, he had no idea, but his eyes glowed slightly as he activated the Skill: [Emperor's Gaze].

This was a Skill he had recently picked up. He wanted to test it out right now. After all the ability to literally implant deas straight into someone's mind, a manner of mind control, was incredible to Jason, and he could never imagine ever getting into his mind something like that. 

Emily's breath hitched. Jason's words were designed to resonate deeply, embedding themselves in her thoughts. By associating her feelings of safety and love with his presence, Jason subtly reinforced her dependency on him. This was Anchoring at the highest level.
