The Shock Of Vegapunk

Kaos nodded and directly led Stussy into the base.

Then there was a momentary trance and a sense of dizziness.

The feeling was familiar but passed quickly.

What appeared before them was the newly established base in the zombie world. Various farmlands had been reclaimed to facilitate future farming. Some factory equipment was also being transferred here to enable direct production and mass production.

With Kaos's arrival, several believers immediately knelt down.

They shouted phrases like, "My God!" expressing their devout belief.

Kaos smiled and nodded, then waved his hand. Holy light descended upon some believers, their faith surged, and Kaos easily gained another group of fanatics.

Initially, coming to the zombie world, Kaos had planned to transfer back to Mariejois through the double-passage gate here and then proceed to New World to explore.

But after just two steps, a scientific researcher hurriedly approached him with an excited expression.

"Your Highness, I didn't expect to find you here! I was just looking for you," the researcher exclaimed in surprise.

Kaos asked, "What happened?"

The researcher quickly replied, "Dr. Vegapunk's research has made progress. We've extracted viruses and crystal nuclei from some upgraded zombies for research and successfully developed a new drug."

"This potion allows people to awaken abilities, akin to Devil Fruits."

The researcher's tone was filled with enthusiasm.

Understandably so.

For a scientist, discovering something so revolutionary was akin to a dream come true. It was no exaggeration to say that this one invention alone was a lifetime achievement for many researchers.

"Oh?" Kaos was intrigued and immediately displayed a delighted expression. "Take me there to see it," he said promptly.

"Yes, Your Highness. Please follow me," the researcher responded, leading the way.

Shortly after, they arrived at a laboratory.

Vegapunk held a bottle of potion and handed it to a CP member who had volunteered to be the test subject.

Kaos recognized the potion; it was the No. 1 formula, designed to enhance physical fitness.

After the CP member consumed it, his aura visibly intensified, and his physical capabilities greatly improved, reaching the limit of what the potion could achieve.

Vegapunk then presented another potion, obviously the newly developed supernatural formula.

When the CP member drank it, he let out a low growl of "Ah!" as a trace of pain flickered across his face.

Then, with a buzz, a surge of energy erupted.

The CP member's body swelled visibly, muscles bulging until they resembled a completely different person—a muscular giant compared to his previously slender build.

"It seems the awakening of abilities is random. Judging by the changes, it looks like you've awakened a strength-related ability. How do you feel?" Vegapunk inquired, taking notes.

The CP member clenched his fists, flexed his arms, and replied earnestly, "Twice the strength."

"Twice?" Vegapunk's eyes gleamed. "Very good."

He nodded in satisfaction and murmured excitedly, "Based on our research, abilities unlocked through these potions can be categorized into three stages. This is only the first stage. We'll work on stage two and three upgrades soon. With each stage, the strength of the ability will grow exponentially."

"Stage three represents the limit."

"But unlike Devil Fruits, these abilities don't require training—they improve directly with potions. And there's no associated weakness."

"They're not affected by seawater."

"This is the perfect genetic creation!" Vegapunk's enthusiasm was evident on his face.

At that moment, the CP member noticed Kaos and quickly bowed. "Your Highness!"

Hearing this, Vegapunk turned and saw Kaos. He immediately rushed over, grabbing Kaos by the arm with excitement. "Your Highness, you came just in time! We've successfully developed the first-stage potion. While it's only a beginning, I already have ideas for advancing to stages two and three. It won't take long to develop them!"

"The best part is that the potion has no side effects—although..." Vegapunk frowned, looking troubled.

Kaos raised an eyebrow. "What's the issue?"

"Not everyone can awaken abilities through this potion—it's random."

"If someone fails to awaken, the potion will only enhance their physical strength."

"And like Devil Fruits, each individual can only use it once."

"However, the success rate for awakening is fairly high."

While the creation had initially seemed perfect, discovering this flaw left Vegapunk slightly less ecstatic.

Kaos patted Vegapunk on the shoulder, offering reassurance. "Doctor, your research has already exceeded expectations. Minor flaws are inevitable. Perfection is not easily attained."

"You're absolutely right," Vegapunk agreed, nodding with renewed confidence.

He then handed another bottle of potion to Kaos. "Would you like to try it?"

Kaos did not respond immediately. Instead, he asked, "Is it safe?"

Vegapunk affirmed confidently, "Absolutely safe."

"Of course, I'll try it," Kaos said. He examined the potion briefly, anticipation glimmering in his eyes. Without hesitation, he drank it.

As the potion coursed through his body, a sharp pain arose briefly.

Soon, Kaos felt a surge of energy building within him.

He raised his hand, eyes gleaming, as he sensed the newfound power.

"Your Highness, did you successfully awaken an ability?" Vegapunk asked, curiosity piqued.

"Yes," Kaos replied with a grin.

"What kind of ability?" Vegapunk pressed.

Kaos didn't answer verbally. Instead, he focused, activating the newfound power.

In a flash, his figure vanished.

The next moment, Kaos reappeared on the other side of Vegapunk.

Vegapunk's eyes widened in shock. "Could it be...?"

"Exactly as you guessed," Kaos confirmed with a smirk. "It's spatial manipulation—the ability to teleport."

The ability wasn't overly strong yet, allowing teleportation over only a short distance. However, Kaos knew the ability had three stages, and its potential at the highest level was thrilling.

Vegapunk marveled. "Your Highness, this ability is extraordinary! May I document its specifics?"

Kaos nodded and explained the ability in detail to Vegapunk who carefully recorded everything.

An idea then sparked in Kaos's mind. "Can the power of faith enhance this ability?"

Kaos thought about it and decided to try it.

A milky white light came out from the surface of the body.

This is the light after the power of faith appeared.

Soft and holy.

A soft, sacred glow enveloped him, drawing curious gazes from Vegapunk and the others.

"What's happening, Your Highness?" Vegapunk asked, puzzled.

Kaos didn't answer immediately. Instead, he teleported again—this time covering a much greater distance.

Teleporting once more, Kaos disappeared from the lab and reappeared seconds later.

Vegapunk was astounded. "Your Highness, did your ability just evolve?"

"Indeed," Kaos confirmed with a smile. He reveled in the enhanced teleportation ability, already thinking of its boundless potential.
