The first battle was just the beginning; although it was hard-fought, it instilled Kalia with ample confidence and increased her determination for upcoming battles.

Additionally, based on this encounter, Kalia started experimenting with move combinations during fights, such as pairing Smokescreen with Fire Spin.

Unbeknownst to her, Kalia's abilities were steadily improving. Previously, she only relied on executing individual moves, but this battle provided numerous insights.

For an average Trainer, even if they had similar ideas, they would struggle to implement them due to their Pokemon's lack of training and mastery over moves, let alone combining them effectively.

However, Charmeleon possessed exceptional talent in utilizing moves, making it feasible for Kalia to bring her evolving strategies to life.

She decided to seize an opportunity for some specialized training soon, as Vulpix was also nearing combat readiness.

Late at night, within the system space.

Today's combat rating could only be described as mediocre, considering Nobu Shangye's formidable strength. Lian struggled to maintain control and often found himself on the defensive.

The final reward amounted to just 1,793 Combat Points, not exceptionally low but also not substantial. Including his previously accumulated points, he now had a total of 15,023 Combat Points.

"Hmm?"

Suddenly, the entire system space underwent a transformation. The combat data vanished, replaced by a vast expanse of whiteness.

Is the system upgrading?

Lian was taken aback; the first upgrade occurred at 5,000 Combat Points, and he anticipated the second one around 20,000 points. Surprisingly, the upgrade happened at only 15,000 Combat Points. Based on this pattern, he guessed that the next upgrade might require approximately 45,000 Combat Points.

With the system upgrading, there was nothing he could do. Lian couldn't return to sleep yet, as he would have to wait until tomorrow night to exit. He decided to anticipate what new features might emerge after the upgrade.

Lying down, Lian prepared to carefully plan how to utilize over ten thousand Combat Points effectively, aiming to maximize his own strength while making optimal use of every point.

Time flew quickly while staying within the system space. Before he knew it, the entire system underwent another transformation, resetting and expanding significantly.

"Hmm?"

To Lian's surprise, after the upgrade, he could now sense energy presence within the system space, which meant he could practice moves here.

In the past, he might have dismissed this as less practical than simply resting, but now he found it quite useful. Although there seemed to be a time limit for staying in the system space, it was still substantial.

Most importantly, reaching the time limit and being forcibly ejected did not affect the quality of Lian's sleep; he would wake up normally each day.

This indicated that every day, Lian could allocate additional time to practice moves within the system space. A crucial aspect was that he wouldn't feel fatigue while inside the system space.

First, let's see what updates the system has made.

Lian examined the extensive data displayed before him. His personal stats panel had undergone changes, albeit not significant ones. The only noticeable addition was an Energy Control Rating, aligning with his earlier expectations.

Charmeleon

Gender: ♂

Type: Fire

Level: Lv 25

Abilities: Blaze/Solar Power

Moves: ...

Energy Control Rating: Fire-Type 10%, Dragon-Type 5%, Normal-Type 3%, Steel-Type: 0%, ...

Stats: Stamina 875, Attack 605, Defense 575, Special Attack 935, Special Defense 610, Speed 881

Explosive Power: 1.5 (+)

Rock Resistance: 1.82 (+)

Water Resistance: 1

The Energy Control Rating is straightforward, indicating mastery over various elemental energies. Currently, Lian has the highest control over fire energy at 10%, followed by dragon energy at 5%. This likely stems from frequently using dragon-type moves. Lastly, his control over normal-type energy stands at only 3%, while other types remain at 0%.

Lian suspects that acquiring Energy Control Ratings occurs after learning corresponding elemental moves. In other words, these ratings don't inherently exist; they develop as Pokemon learn and continually utilize energy for specific attributes, thereby increasing their Energy Control Rating.

The Energy Control Rating also correlated with the Pokemon's attributes; as Lian had a Fire-type Pokemon, his fire energy control reached 10%. However, for other attribute energies, the ratings were significantly lower.

Lian noticed that the Energy Control Ratings could be improved through Combat Points, indicated by the plus sign (+). He wondered if increasing these ratings would enable him to learn corresponding elemental moves for those attributes.

For now, he decided not to experiment immediately and planned to explore this gradually over time.

Soon after, Lian discovered that besides improving, the Energy Control Ratings could also decrease.

When clicking on Dragon-type mastery, it displayed as 5(+/-)%, indicating that he could reduce his Dragon-type energy control. This puzzled Lian, as decreasing energy control seemed counterintuitive without any apparent benefits.

After reviewing the data panel, Lian turned his attention to today's combat rating, which showed changes as well.

The individual gap rewards for each category had disappeared, replaced by a comprehensive gap reward.

Combat Rating: C+

Overall Performance Reward: 1,793

Total Combat Points: 15,023

This format was actually more convenient; to view detailed data, one could simply click on the link provided for immediate clarity.

From today's battle, Zangoose reached level 33 with significantly high ability values, while Audino attained level 29.

What left Lian speechless was that due to his exceptionally high total ability values, both the Ability Value Gap and Base Stat Difference Rewards showed negative numbers.

As his strength increased, Lian's cumulative base stats had nearly approached five hundred. Strictly speaking, apart from output rewards, other bonuses became negligible, and he should solely focus on enhancing his output reward potential.

However, having a high Special Attack alone is not sufficient. Lian must maintain durability on the battlefield; otherwise, as seen today, he could easily be reduced to low health or instantly defeated, rendering his high Special Attack value useless without the opportunity to utilize it effectively.

No Pokemon is invincible. To defeat or instantly eliminate others, one must rely on either type advantage, level superiority, overwhelming output power, or superior ability values.

Raising levels quickly is challenging and not easily accomplished overnight. Achieving level superiority seems nearly impossible.

Lian also couldn't achieve output superiority due to the system's limitation on increasing Special Attack ability value. If he had already attained a Special Attack ability value of 50-60 or higher, he would undoubtedly be able to take down any opponent instantly. However, that was clearly unattainable at present.

Now, there remains only one viable path: ability value dominance, which involves enhancing all ability values comprehensively. Although this approach weakens other combat rewards, focusing on maximizing output rewards is crucial.
