A heavily armored person materialized in the middle of a forest, weapons at the ready, looking around his environment as soon as he appeared.
There was a transparent cylindrical barrier cutting him off from his surroundings.
[The event 'Movement' will begin in [04:44]]
[Your score in this event will be calculated by two factors]
[The first factor will be the time survived]
[The will last for 100 hours, if you survive till the end you will gain a full score for this category]
[The second factor will be your distance from your starting point]
[There is no limit to how far you can go, but be warned, the further you go, the higher the chances of encountering something that is way over your current capacity to handle]
[That's all. Good luck!]
Reed frowned at the message.
'Somethings off.'
He mentally committed the message to memory and made a note to ponder about this later.
His radar warned him that there were twelve living beings within its range.
He closed his eyes and activated [Environment sense].
He clicked his tongue.
'Can't penetrate the barrier.'
He raised his hand and laid a palm on the blue film blocking his skill.
'But radar works.' His mind ran through a few possibilities. 'is it because the radar is an ability of the system? Or because it's just too weak to bypass the barrier? Could be both, or maybe radar is higher than it.'
"Hm." He hummed and changed his train of thought, looking at the radar to see which way he should go.
'That seems like a group.' He thought looking at 4 dots very close to each other at the edge of his radar's range. He zoomed in. 'Most definitely a group.' He guessed that they were only a few meters from each other, and there was a good chance that there were more than just the four that his radar perceived.
The closest one to him was over three hundred meters away.
'It's just within range.'
He looked towards it and activated the skill that allowed him to use X-ray vision.
He tsked, he couldn't see beyond the barrier, which looked solid when he was using his skill.
'Worth a try.'
He looked over the dots and settled on a direction to go.
'As long as I can evade that one I should be okay.' The one dot that was a little bit further from the others. 'I should be able to kill it silently if I can catch it off-guard. But before that...'
He turned away from the radar and brought out a box.
He moved his mana and made a large contraption and put the box into it before putting the box away.
Then he brought out a few small rectangular objects, opened them up, and attached them to various places over his body.
Then he pulled out a large revolver and took out one of its bullets.
It was cylindrical, with some runes etched into it.
It was a mana storage of Reed's mana.
He had made it when he realized that he needed a lot more mana than the amount he had, and made these to remedy that need.
It had the rune for 'Energy storage' on it, an empty rectangle with a small filled-in rectangle on one of its smaller sides.
It had the rune for 'Entry' on one side, a square with an arrow inside it, pointing to the center.
And the rune for 'Exit' on the other, a square with an arrow emerging from the center and penetrating the square to leave.
Once he had filled it, he gained a source of mana that didn't need to be passed through his body to assimilate it before it could be used, since it was his own mana, he could just drain the 'Mana cell' to recover his mana stores almost immediately.
He made a revolver and put it inside, and the [Ammo regeneration] and [Bottomless magazine] traits activated, duplicating the filled cell, giving him as many cells as he needed and much more.
He drained the cell and destroyed it by piercing it with mana constructs emerging from his fingertips, before breaking it into multiple pieces and burying them into the ground.
He removed some of his armor, mostly the bigger and heavier parts.
Then he opened his radar and looked at it. After confirming that none of the dots had moved, he closed it and sat down, waiting for the timer to count down.
[00:30]
When it was at the thirty-second mark, a notice sprung up.
[The event is about to begin]
Reed stood up and checked his equipment.
Then a sudden realization stuck him, as he looked up and noted the time.
'It's early morning...'
[00:10]
He looked at the radar again, and turned to face the direction he had chosen.
[00:10]
[00:09]
'I wonder if I can encounter other players in here.'
[00:03]
'Maybe I'll find out'
[00:00]
When the timer hit zero, the barrier disappeared.
Reed didn't rush, he started walking at a brisk pace.
This event was about survival, running would tire him out and could alert creatures with sharp hearing, he needed to just walk calmly for long periods of time, and rest when he got tired.
As long as he kept walking and stayed away from any enemies, he could complete this event with no incidents.
Not that he wanted to do that.
'The enemies here should serve as good practice, shouldn't they?.'
The warnings from the system informed him that there were enemies that he couldn't defeat, but that also meant that there were those that he could.
'Maybe I can get some materials as well.'
With that thought, he continued his walk to his target, seven hundred meters away.

On the other side, Lyn was not that calm.
'I don't have enough food!!!'
Sure, she had the lunch that they had brought from a restaurant, but besides that and a bottle that needed just mana to refill itself, she had nothing else. With a over four days to go, she had to get food somewhere to avoid starvation.
She sat on the ground, having no way to know if there was anything near her that could damage her or help her
Unlike Reed who could only see trees as far he could see, she could see that she was in a forest on the side of a mountain, clearly seeing a path down and the peak of the mountain on the other side.
'I'll have to hunt.' She realized. 'It shouldn't be that difficult, especially since I have these...' She brought out a pair of pistols that Reed had given her.
[004]/[005] [Tier 4]
They carried tier 5 bullets, and would easily kill tier 4 creatures.
Lyn frowned.
'But the sound could attract others...'
She thought about it for a few moments.
'I'll have to make a decision.'
She looked at the timer.
[00:07]
'Well, I can decide based on the situation.'
She got up and when the barrier disappeared, she activated her all-seeing eye and looked around. Not seeing anything nearby, she started to climb down the mountain.
