Throughout their car ride back home, Felix didn't make any attempt to scold Brooklyn like she expected. That frustrated her to no end. Nothing was going her way.
But, she decided to not give up. Who wants a wife with a nasty psychotic behaviour, anyway? Let's see how much longer he'll keep acting like all this isn't bothering him.
The tires screeched as they had arrived back at their mansion. Brooklyn stepped out of the car.
Ring Ring
"Guy, did you just seriously stand by when Lauren was getting beaten up?!" Roman was angry and disappointed with Felix.
"My wife was upset."
Roman was left speechless. "Are you freaking kidding me right now?!" Felix's nonchalant attitude was pissing off Roman even more.
"What else do you want me to say?"
"Whatever man. Your wife better apologize to my girl. No one bullies the love of my life and gets away with it." Roman quickly hung up on Felix.
Felix shook his head and made his way inside their mansion. There was a commotion in the living room.
"Please ma'am. Forgive me. I promise I'll never do it again." A maid was bawling her eyes out, pleading with Brooklyn who sat on the couch undeterred by the crying.
"What is it now?" Felix exhaled tiredly.
"Ginfred, why don't you tell him what happened."
Ginfred cleared his throat as he started narrating everything that happened.
It just so happened that when Brooklyn stepped into the house, Hillary who was arranging the dinner cutlery on the dining table alongside a couple other maids was busy spewing nonsense.
"I'm telling you, girls. Back when I worked for her parents, everyone knew about her nasty affairs with older men." She lowered her voice. "At that time, she was just in high school. Truly disgusting."
"Is that so?" Brooklyn's voice reverbated in the dining room.
The maids froze in their places. Despite her smug expression from earlier, Hillary trembled in fear upon meeting Brooklyn's cold glare. The maids were quick to stand in a straight line in front of their madam, their gaze lowered to the ground. Hillary was no exception.
Brooklyn chuckled dryly. "Why don't you tell me more about these nasty affairs. Huh?"
Slap
Hillary clutched her cheek that hurt like nothing she'd ever felt before.
"Do I look like a pushover to you?"
"N-no ma'am." Hillary stuttered.
Brooklyn chuckled. "Then why spread lies about me?" She held Hillary's shoulders. "But then again. You weren't lying."
"What?"
"Earlier, you said something about me being a psychotic b*tch. I've been hearing that a lot lately."
"I didn't mean a word I said. I'm really sorry."
"Oh you're good." Brooklyn smiled at Hillary and pat her shoulder.
Hillary exhaled in relief. She was going to watch her mouth from now on.
Brooklyn made her way to the living room couch. "I just have to remind you how psychotic I can really get. It seems you've forgotten."
Brooklyn grinned, relishing in Hillary's scared expression.
"I-I I'm sorry ma'am. Please. I'll never speak ill of you ever again. Just please don't do this to me!" Hillary clawed on all fours and knelt at Brooklyn's feet, grovelling.
Brooklyn scoffed. "Someone would think I'm going to torture you with the way you're acting. Why do you want everyone here to misunderstand me?"
Except for Hillary who already knew just how psychotic Brooklyn was, the other house attendants present in the living room were so confused.
"There's obviously a hidden meaning to what you said, Brooklyn. Care to explain why she's trembling like a leaf?" Having heard enough, Felix asked.
Brooklyn got up from the couch and stood in front of Felix, facing him.
"Guards. Do the needful. Take her away." Brooklyn ordered, her gaze fixated on Felix.
Hillary was a sobbing mess, bawling her eyes out for forgiveness as she was taken away by Brooklyn's bodyguards.
"Where are they taking her?" Felix asked.
"I've been meaning to keep Belle company. This works out perfectly."
"Belle?"
Brooklyn hummed. "My adorable black wolf." She innocently blinked her eye-lashes at Felix.
The room fell silent. Everyone froze where they stood. Meanwhile, Brooklyn happily made her way upstairs.
