The attack had solidified one thing in Shenlong's mind: he could no longer wait for answers to come to him. If he wanted to uncover the truth behind his pendant, his origins, and the shadowy forces pursuing him, he would have to seek them out himself. With the elders watching his every move and assassins lurking in the shadows, remaining in the sect would only leave him vulnerable.
A few days later, Shenlong stood on a cliff just outside the Heavenly Dragon Sect, overlooking the sprawling forests below. The decision weighed heavily on him, but he knew it was necessary. He couldn't stay in the sect forever, not with so many enemies gathering. It was time to leave, to set out on his own path and find the truth.
Zhang Wei stood beside him, his expression filled with a mixture of concern and admiration. "So, this is it? You're really leaving?"
Shenlong nodded, his gaze focused on the distant horizon. "I have to. Staying here will only put me and everyone else in more danger. I can't risk that."
Zhang Wei sighed but didn't argue. "I get it. Just make sure you come back in one piece. The sect will miss you—though they won't admit it."
Shenlong chuckled softly, appreciating his friend's attempt to lighten the mood. "I'll come back when I'm ready. Stronger than ever."
Before parting ways, Zhang Wei handed him a small wooden token engraved with the symbol of the Heavenly Dragon Sect. "If you ever need help, use this. The elders may be watching, but some of us still believe in you."
Shenlong took the token, grateful for Zhang Wei's loyalty. "Thanks, Zhang Wei. Take care of yourself—and keep an eye on things here for me."
With that, Shenlong stepped forward, his figure soon disappearing into the vast wilderness below. The journey ahead was unknown, but he felt a surge of anticipation. He was finally taking control of his destiny.
