Ruins can often times give off a feeling of power and perseverance. It isn't unusual for the remnant strength of a civilization to linger, as if to say "we were here, and we lived". For some, it is an incredible phenomenon. For the former ruler of a once great kingdom, it is a reminder of all the things he could not do.
Godfrey walks along the roads, once lined with merchants, children, and festivities, that is now lifeless. He makes it to the city square where once his wife performed for the people on a stage. A sweet melody tries to enter his mind, but is drowned out by the deafening silence.
A Guqin remains on top of the stage. Its elegance unaltered by the events that transpired. He picks it up and plucks a string. The sound echoes throughout the kingdom, as if to signify that everything is over.
