Chapter 85: Unraveling the Mystery of the Fragments

The floor was violently undulating, like a raging sea. The crystal chandelier above was shaky, making a harsh friction sound, and it might fall down at any time. The furniture in the room was tilted and banged against the wall, making a terrifying sound. However, Dai Shiya and Wei Qing turned a blind eye to all this. Their eyes were fixed on the incomplete document on the ground, as if it was their only lifeline.

"'...system...energy fluctuations...shuttle...target world...stability...'" Wei Qing recited the remaining words with a frown on her face. These words were scattered on the paper like fragments, unable to piece together a complete picture. "What does this mean? What system? What shuttle?"

Dai Shiya resisted the dizziness and pointed to a half-burned text in the file with shaking hands, "Look here... '... Trigger conditions... Soul binding...'"

"Soul binding?" Wei Qing repeated these words, her expression becoming more serious. "Could it be that... you were forcibly bound by some kind of system, and then traveled to this world?"

"It's possible..." Dai Shiya took a deep breath and tried to keep herself calm. "But this is just a guess. We need more information."

The room shook more and more violently, and the cracks in the walls grew larger and larger, as if they would collapse at any moment. Dust and debris kept falling from the ceiling, landing on their hair and shoulders.

"'...Warning...Insufficient energy...The world is collapsing...'" Wei Qing's voice trembled. She pointed at another incomplete text in the document, her face as pale as paper. "What...what does this mean? The world is collapsing?"

Dai Shiya's heart suddenly sank, and an ominous premonition came to her mind. Could it be that the world was about to be destroyed? And all of this was related to her transmigrating into a book?

Time passed by, and the shaking of the room showed no signs of slowing down. Dai Shiya and Wei Qing anxiously checked the documents, trying to find more clues. However, too many parts of the documents were burned, and a lot of key information was missing. Their efforts were like looking for a needle in a haystack.

Wei Qing tried to speculate the contents of the missing parts based on her own knowledge and experience. She imagined many possibilities, from the parallel universe theory in science fiction novels to the multi-world interpretation in quantum mechanics, and even some ancient myths and legends. However, each possibility had huge loopholes and could not perfectly explain the remaining information in the file.

"No," Wei Qing shook her head dejectedly, "There is too little information to infer the complete truth."

At this moment, Dai Shiya suddenly discovered that there were some obscure marks on the burned edge of the document. These marks were written in a special ink and were still clearly visible after the fire. She felt that these marks might be the key to the interpretation, but she could not understand their meaning for a while.

"Wait..." Dai Shiya pointed at the marks, her voice trembling, "Look at these..."

"What is this?" Wei Qing took a closer look. In the dim light, the marks looked mysterious and unpredictable. "It looks like some kind of symbol. I've never seen it before."

Dai Shiya's heart was pounding, and an inexplicable excitement mixed with fear spread in her heart. She had a hunch that these symbols were the key to solving all the mysteries. "Maybe... maybe it's some kind of code?"

The room shook more violently, and a huge rock fell from the ceiling and fell directly towards them. Dai Shiya was quick to pull Wei Qing over, and the two of them rolled to the side in embarrassment, barely avoiding the fatal blow. The rock hit the floor heavily, making a loud noise and stirring up a cloud of dust.

"Be careful!" Dai Shiya shouted in shock, the dust choking her and making her cough uncontrollably.

Wei Qing was also frightened and pale, but she quickly calmed down and realized that now was not the time to be afraid. "We must find the answer as soon as possible, otherwise..." She did not continue, but both of them understood that if they could not solve the mystery in time, they would most likely be buried in this crumbling room.

Dai Shiya wiped the dust off her face and looked at the incomplete document again. The obscure marks looked even more mysterious in the dim light, as if silently mocking their ignorance.

"These marks...are arranged in a very strange way," Dai Shiya said, pointing at the marks. "Look, they seem to follow some kind of pattern."

Wei Qing also discovered this, and she carefully observed the arrangement of the marks, trying to find some clues. Some of these marks looked like letters, some like numbers, and some like some abstract patterns. They seemed to be related to each other, but they were also chaotic.

"Could this be some kind of ancient writing?" Wei Qing guessed, "Or... some special symbol system?"

Dai Shiya shook her head. "I'm not sure, but I feel that these marks are related to the text messages we saw before."

They turned their attention to the remaining text on the document again, trying to connect the marks with the text. However, there was too little text information, and many key parts were burned, so their efforts still made no progress.

As time passed, the room shook more and more violently, and it could collapse at any time. Dai Shiya and Wei Qing became more and more anxious, and they realized that they didn't have much time left.

Stones fell from the ceiling one after another, and they had to dodge the falling rocks while continuing to interpret the mysterious marks. Dai Shiya's fingers gently ran over the marks, feeling their shapes and textures, trying to find a hint of inspiration from them.

Suddenly, she felt a slight bulge on the surface of one of the marks. She gently scraped it with her fingernail and found a thin layer of paper hidden under the mark. She carefully peeled off the paper and revealed another set of marks hidden underneath.

"Look!" Dai Shiya pointed at the newly discovered mark excitedly, "There's more here!"

Wei Qing's eyes widened in surprise. She realized that these hidden marks might be the key to solving the mystery. However, before they could study these newly discovered marks carefully, Wei Qing's eyes suddenly fell on another corner of the room... a box that was smashed open by falling rocks...

"Wait," Wei Qing said with a hint of disbelief, "I seem to... remember..."

"The box! The box in the secret room!" Wei Qing pointed at the box half-hidden under the rubble in the corner, and spoke incoherently with excitement, "The password! It's made up of those patterns! I remember! I really remember!"

Dai Shiya looked in the direction of Wei Qing's finger and saw an old wooden box half-hidden in the rubble. It was the one they had found in the secret room before. At that time, they took great pains to open the box, but only found some seemingly worthless old things.

"Hurry! Let's go and take a look!" Dai Shiya also realized hope. She struggled to stand up, but was hit on the shoulder by a sudden falling rock.

"Ah!" Dai Shiya screamed in pain and collapsed to the ground with beads of sweat oozing from her forehead.

"Shiya!" Wei Qing was horrified when she saw this, and quickly ran to Dai Shiya to check her injuries, "How are you? Can you move?"

Dai Shiya gritted her teeth, endured the severe pain, and shook her head, "I'm fine... just a hit on the shoulder... Go and see if there are any clues in the box..."

Wei Qing knew that now was not the time to hesitate, so she helped Dai Shiya to a relatively safe place, then quickly ran to the box and began to search.

There weren't many things in the box, so Wei Qing quickly searched through them. In addition to the few old things she had found before, she also found a worn-out notebook. The cover of the notebook was badly damaged, but the paper inside was relatively well preserved, with some words and symbols densely recorded on it.

"Found it!" Wei Qing was ecstatic. She carefully opened the notebook and compared the contents with the marks on the document. The notebook seemed to be written in an ancient language that Wei Qing did not recognize, but she found that some of the symbols and marks were very similar in shape.

According to the records in the notebook, Wei Qing finally deciphered the meaning of some of the marks, which seemed to represent time, place and people. However, there were still some key marks that could not be explained in the notebook, which made her very confused.

"How is it? Did you find anything?" Dai Shiya asked while enduring the pain.

A hint of joy appeared on Wei Qing's face, but it was soon replaced by worry. "I have interpreted some marks, but they are not complete. There is still some key information that I cannot understand..."

At this moment, the room shook violently, the cracks in the ceiling became bigger and bigger, and more rocks began to fall.

"It's too late, we must leave here immediately!" Dai Shiya realized that the situation was critical. She struggled to stand up, took Wei Qing's hand and ran out.

However, before they took a few steps, Wei Qing suddenly stopped, her eyes fixed on a passage on the notebook, an expression of disbelief on her face.

"What's wrong?" Dai Shiya asked anxiously.

Wei Qing did not answer. She pointed at the words on the notebook and said in a trembling voice: "Look...it's written here...it's your name..."

Dai Shiya's heart was shocked. She quickly moved closer to take a look, and saw the three words "Dai Shiya" written on the notebook, and they were written in modern Chinese characters!

"This...how is this possible..." Dai Shiya suddenly felt a chill down her spine, and a chill ran through her heart.

"We...we have to leave here..." Wei Qing's voice also became panic-stricken. She took Dai Shiya's hand and ran out of the room. However, the way out was blocked by fallen rocks and debris...
