Chapter 127: First Cave Exploration

Dai Shiya came to the heavily guarded building with a bunch of questions.

The night enveloped the city, and the neon lights flickered, but they could not illuminate the haze around the building.

There was an indescribable sense of oppression in the air, as if an invisible hand was strangling her throat.

She took a deep breath and tried to calm her inner waves.

This was the headquarters of the mysterious force behind "Night Owl". Her destination was also a dangerous place full of unknowns.

The outer wall of the building was as smooth as a mirror, reflecting Dai Shiya's slightly nervous face.

She raised her hand and gently stroked the broken hair by her ear, but her eyes were as firm as iron.

Wei Qing followed closely behind, looking around vigilantly.

"Are you ready?" Dai Shiya asked in a low voice, and her voice was particularly clear in the night.

"Anytime." Wei Qing answered concisely, holding a special micro pistol tightly in her hand.

The two exchanged glances and walked towards the entrance of the building.

At the entrance, two black-clad bodyguards stood like statues, expressionless, with sharp eyes scanning every person who approached.

Dai Shiya walked steadily and calmly, as if she was just here for an ordinary business meeting.

However, when they approached the entrance, an invisible barrier suddenly appeared, blocking them out. Almost at

the same time, a sharp alarm sounded in the air, breaking the tranquility of the night.

Dai Shiya's heart trembled. Sure enough, everything here was more complicated than she had imagined.

A virtual control panel appeared in front of her, flashing complex codes and symbols, as difficult to understand as a heavenly book.

Time passed by minute by minute, and the alarm sounded more and more urgent, like a death warrant, knocking on Dai Shiya's nerves.

The air around seemed to solidify, and it was suffocating.

Dai Shiya took a deep breath and forced herself to calm down.

She stretched out her finger and slid quickly on the control panel, trying to find a way to crack it.

Her fingertips touched the cold screen, and a chill instantly spread throughout her body.

She felt that time was running out, and every second was like dancing on the edge of a knife.

"This won't work, it's too slow." Wei Qing said anxiously, "Their support will arrive soon."

Dai Shiya didn't say anything, but just operated the control panel more attentively.

However, as time went by, her brows furrowed more and more.

The arrangement of these codes and symbols was extremely complicated, like a huge maze, so she couldn't find any clues.

Suddenly, Dai Shiya stopped what she was doing, looked up at Wei Qing, "Help me buy some time."

"What are you going to do?" Wei Qing asked in confusion.

Dai Shiya didn't answer, but took out a small device from her pocket...

What Dai Shiya took out was not a high-tech cracker, but a small strong flashlight and a specially treated lens.

She cleverly fixed the lens on the front of the flashlight and adjusted the angle so that the light was refracted through the lens and projected on the control panel.

The dazzling light instantly covered the control panel, and the originally flashing codes and symbols became blurred under the interweaving of light and shadow, like a ball of jumping flames, dazzling.

At the same time, the flashlight emitted a high-frequency buzzing sound, which was difficult for ordinary people to detect, but for the highly sensitive security system, it was like a heavy hammer, disrupting its operation.

"What's going on?" A black-clad bodyguard whispered, with a hint of doubt in his tone.

He reached out and pressed the headset, trying to contact the control center, but found that the communication signal was strongly interfered with, and the noise filled his eardrums.

"It seems that there is a problem with the system." Another bodyguard said, frowning and looking at the bizarre scene in front of him in confusion.

The control panel kept flashing disordered characters, as restless as a mad beast.

"We must troubleshoot immediately!" The leading bodyguard said anxiously, and waved to the other bodyguards, "Go check the line to see if there is anyone intruding!"

Several black-clad bodyguards immediately dispersed in different directions and began to check the surrounding lines and equipment. Their anxious footsteps echoed in the empty hall, and they seemed a little flustered.

At this time, the "light and flame" in front of the control panel became stronger and stronger, like a time bomb that could explode at any time, making everyone present feel uneasy.

Dai Shiya's mouth corners slightly raised. She took advantage of the moment when the security personnel were confused by the false light and noise, and moved quickly. Her figure flashed through the invisible barrier at the entrance like a ghost.

Wei Qing followed closely behind, without making any sound, and her movements were crisp and neat, without the slightest drag.

"It's done!" She whispered, with a hint of imperceptible excitement in her voice, like the satisfaction of a cat stealing fish.

Her fingertips touched the cold wall, and a real touch came from her fingertips.

Success!

They have broken through the first line of defense.

The darkness around them seemed to be dispelled by their courage. Although there was only a faint light, it was enough to ignite hope in their hearts.

Dai Shiya's mouth corners raised. She knew that this was just the beginning. The real challenge was still behind, and the more dangerous ones were still waiting for them in front.

"Let's go, the good show has just begun." Dai Shiya turned her head and said to Wei Qing.

After she finished speaking, she took a step and walked towards the depth of the corridor, her figure gradually disappearing into the darkness.

The light in the depths of the corridor was dim, and there was a cold metallic smell, like the breath of a sleeping steel behemoth.

Dai Shiya took every step carefully, and her high heels made a slight "click" sound on the marble floor, which echoed in the silent corridor, as if knocking on her atrium.

The walls around her were as smooth as a mirror, reflecting her slightly nervous face and magnifying her inner uneasiness.

Wei Qing's voice came from the headset, clear and calm, like a spring flowing in Dai Shiya's heart.

"Turn left, there is a surveillance camera at the end of the corridor, be careful to avoid it."

Dai Shiya followed Wei Qing's instructions, her body pressed against the wall, and moved silently.

She could feel the coldness of the wall, and the rough texture rubbed against her skin, bringing a strange stimulation.

The surveillance camera flashed a red light, like a vigilant eye, watching everything in the corridor.

Dai Shiya held her breath, slowed down her pace, and cleverly shuttled through the blind spot of the surveillance camera without causing any alarm.

"Well done!" Wei Qing's voice was full of praise, "There is a password door in front. I have cracked the password. You can just enter it directly."

Dai Shiya came to the password door, took a deep breath, and calmed her nervous mood.

She stretched out her fingers and quickly entered the password on the cold keyboard. Every number struck her heartstrings.

With a light "beep", the password door slowly opened, revealing a darker passage.

Dai Shiya's heartbeat suddenly accelerated, as if something was stirring in the darkness.

She clenched her fists, cheered herself up, and then stepped into the passage.

The passage was pitch black, and you couldn't see your hand in front of you. Only the faint light from a distance was projected in, forming a series of strange light and shadows.

The air was filled with a damp and musty smell, mixed with a faint smell of blood, which was disgusting.

"Be careful!" Wei Qing's voice suddenly became urgent. "There are infrared sensors in the passage. Don't touch them..."

Dai Shiya hadn't finished her words when she heard a burst of hurried footsteps coming from the depths of the passage, getting closer and closer, and getting clearer and clearer.

"Who is it?" A deep voice sounded in the darkness.

Dai Shiya's heart suddenly shrank, and her footsteps stopped instantly.

In the darkness, she seemed to feel the oppression brought by the voice, surrounding her like a substance.

She held her breath, pressed her body against the wall, and dared not move.

The touch of the cold wall kept her awake a little. In the humid air, the faint smell of blood became stronger, stimulating her sense of smell and almost suffocating her.

The footsteps were getting closer and closer, mixed with the slight sound of metal collision, echoing in the narrow passage, like the footsteps of the god of death, hitting Dai Shiya's heart one by one.

She could feel her heartbeat like a drum, deafening, and almost bursting through her chest.

Suddenly, a beam of flashlight cut through the darkness and pierced like a sword.

Dai Shiya instinctively closed her eyes, her body trembling slightly.

The beam of light stayed on her face for a moment, then quickly moved away, sweeping across every corner of the passage.

"It seems someone has been here." A rough voice said with a hint of doubt.

"Impossible, the security system here is impregnable, no one can break in." Another voice retorted with a hint of disdain in his tone.

"But, look, the dust here has traces of being stepped on."

Dai Shiya felt that her back was soaked with cold sweat, and she tried to control her breathing and try not to make any sound.

She could feel the beam of the flashlight sweeping back and forth near her, as if it would shine on her at any time.

She could even hear the bodyguard's breathing, heavy and rapid, like a beast about to catch its prey.

"Could it be a rat?"

"Rats? This is dozens of meters underground, how could there be rats?"

Just when Dai Shiya was about to collapse, the footsteps began to fade away, the beam of the flashlight disappeared, and the passage fell into darkness again.

Dai Shiya slowly opened her eyes and breathed a long sigh of relief, as if she had survived a disaster.

She continued to move forward cautiously, taking every step with extreme caution, as if walking on the edge of a knife.

Finally, she came to the end of the passage, and a heavy metal door appeared in front of her.

She took a deep breath and pushed the metal door open.

Behind the door was a spacious room with dim lights and a pungent smell of chemicals in the air.

In the center of the room stood a huge instrument, flashing a faint blue light and making a low humming sound.

Dai Shiya knew that she had reached a key area inside the headquarters of the mysterious force.

But she also understood that the real danger had just begun.

She looked around, her eyes cold and firm, and a barely perceptible sneer appeared at the corner of her mouth.

"The game has only just begun..." She whispered to herself, reaching out to touch the cold instrument.
