Watts slowly stood up, his movements deliberate, his expression unreadable. He exhaled deeply, closing his eyes as he steadied his thoughts.

The curse placed upon him had shackled him, stripping away all his other abilities, all the potential he was supposed to wield, all the power that should have been his to command.

It had blocked everything—his innate gifts, the abilities of his race, even the very essence of what he could become.

And yet, for some reason beyond his understanding, he had been left with one singular ability.

He could still turn others.

That single loophole in the curse was something he was going to use to its fullest potential.

If he could not yet reclaim his own strength, then he would ensure that his family did. Layla. Liz. They would not remain weak.

He would give them the power they needed. The power they deserved. The power they would one day use to stand beside him as equals.
