Chapter 54: Emotions in Bold Print

“I can’t believe you’re really here.”

My heart was pounding as I looked up into Vin’s golden eyes. They were shimmering as he beamed down at me. 

“I missed you,” I told him simply, my eyes burning with tears. 

It had been more than a year but he looked exactly the way he had when I left for the Zodiac Realm. His thick dark hair was slightly messy and falling over his forehead, framing his deep eyes. His smile was bright and playful, even though he was looking at me in complete awe. 

He closed the gap between us, his strong arms winding around my waist and tugging me closer to him. 

“I missed you too, Aqua,” he said in his velvety voice. He reached up and tucked some of my wavy hair away from my face, his fingers lingering on my cheekbone for a long moment. 

I shut my eyes and leaned into his touch, just savoring this moment. 

My eyes snapped open and I looked into Vin’s face. “Wait, we need to talk,” I told him, reaching for his hands and grasping them in mine.
