Chapter 26 III Generation Mecha · Green Wings

The entire Type II Chilami's body had been blasted into a mess of gaping wounds, but as more and more Chilami Larvae surged in, the Type II Chilami's body rapidly repaired itself, and its size grew even larger. The shell made by the differentiation of its outer cells became more lustrous, showing signs of evolving towards a Type III.

Su Ming shook his head slightly as he watched the battle unfold before his eyes; the situation didn't look too optimistic.

At that moment, the expanding body of the Chilami suddenly compressed violently, shrinking from over twenty meters tall to fifteen meters, as its unformed circular head split open to reveal an ugly mouth.

Zizz!

Black lightning started to flicker.

Whoosh!

A black beam swept across.

Boom, boom, boom~

One Iron Head Mecha after another, along with armored vehicles, exploded.

Right after, the Type II Chilami further mimicked the human form.

"We're done."

Captain Han Le struggled to get his mecha to its feet and felt a sharp pang in his heart when he saw this scene.

Suddenly, a streak of light shot from the distance, hitting the transforming Chilami's body squarely!

Crack!

A white Beam Saber pierced through the body of the Type II Chilami.

This sudden turn of events stunned everyone.

Su Ming held his breath and looked carefully.

He saw a seventeen-meter-tall mecha covered in blue metallic armor, a Beam Cannon embedded on its shoulder, a pair of agile mechanical jet wings on its back, wielding two ten-meter long Beam Sabers, and with a Black Star insignia spray-painted on its chest.

"Third Generation Mecha, Green Wings!"

Su Ming almost blurted out subconsciously; he recognized the model of the mecha at a glance, and this was not just an ordinary Third Generation Machine, but also one with an honor marking.

The Black Star spray-painted on its chest was the best proof.

In the old Federation, Heavenly Revelation Divine Country, and the Dark Star Empire, all three major military factions abided by the same rule of honor.

That was, upon killing an important enemy figure or a formidable creature, in addition to receiving awards and medals, one could spray-paint different insignias on their own mecha.

A star insignia represented a renowned expert, officers of colonel rank, special Type III Alien Race and above.

A moon insignia represented top enemy experts, officer ranks reaching that of a general, Type IV Alien Race and above.

A sun insignia represented enemy heroes, officers reaching the rank of commander, Type V Alien Race and above.

As for the black spray-paint, it denoted the killing of a member of the Alien Race, and red represented members of the enemy faction.

"So strong!"

Chen Tong, Mink, and the others were all stunned.

With just one strike, they had inflicted a severe wound on the Type II Elite Level Chilami about to advance, with its life force gushing out in an instant.

The heavily damaged Type II Elite Level Chilami extended its differentiated claws toward the Green Wing Mecha in front of it.

But then, the Green Wing Mecha swung its other Beam Saber, cleaving the incoming claw in two. Then, pulling out the Beam Saber that had pierced through its body, it struck down on the Chilami in a backhanded slash.

Crack!

The entire Type II Chilami was split open from the head, revealing its squirming internal tissues.

The Green Wing Mecha followed up by waving its Beam Saber, slicing the body as easily as cutting a watermelon, dividing it into four to five segments.

Then, the Green Wing Mecha sheathed the Light Blade and pulled out a huge Mechanical Light Gun, adjusted the muzzle, and pulled the trigger aimed at the Chilami's corpse.

Zizz~

A scattering beam swept across like a scanner, covering the entire body of the Type II Chilami.

Its black, cell-like body melted away like bubbles, until it transformed into a mass of dry matter, completely losing its activity.

Due to the old Federation's years of battling with Chilami and the Mechanical Clan, there were two types of weapons that were particularly advanced. One of them was optical weapons, and the Mechanical Light Gun carried by the Green Wing Mecha was a classic example, capable of concentrating energy to puncture through or disperse the beam to dissolve the body.

Another type of weapon was electromagnetic, designed specifically to deal with the Mechanical Clan.

After completely dealing with this Chilami, the Green Wing Mecha turned its head and issued orders to Han Le and the others with a grave voice.

"The rest of the cleanup and aftermath management is up to you."

"Yes, Lord Zhou Hao!"

Han Le and the others responded excitedly, the Lord Zhou Hao before them was the right-hand man of Lord Xiao Lie.

Whoosh~

Zhou Hao controlled the Green Wing Mecha, leaped up from the ground, and flew away.

"Everyone, the crisis is over. Let's begin with the aftermath."

Han Le said to Daniel and the others.

"Yes!"

Daniel and the others replied immediately.

"Whew, it's finally over."

"We're saved."

...

The many students and teachers at the scene let out sighs of relief, having finally made it through, truly a brutal experience.

After giving orders, Han Le turned his head to examine the four training mechas and asked.

"You four are students, right?"

"Uh, yes."

Su Ming and his companions replied.

Han Le was quite surprised by their answer.

He hadn't expected them to be students, and yet so brave. To put it bluntly, students from the intermediate academy were mostly like flowers in a greenhouse, well-versed in theory but had never seen a real brutal battle, so he sincerely praised them.

"Thank you very much for your help. You were very courageous, and you performed exceptionally well!"

"Commander, you flatter us too much, we didn't contribute much."

Su Ming and the others were somewhat taken aback by the praise.

"Don't say that; you really did outstandingly."

Han Le replied earnestly.

For a moment, Su Ming and the others were almost embarrassed by the compliments.

Just then, a man dressed in a black suit with a small mustache, bald on top of his head, sporting a beer belly, and considerably old, accompanied by a group of people, came storming up to Han Le and the others.

Su Ming was curiously watching this man, who, if he remembered correctly, was the Principal Luo Ken.

Seeing Luo Ken scanning the circle of grievously wounded students, he stretched out his finger towards Han Le and asked in great anger.

"What the hell were you doing, how long had the Chilami invaded before you came to support? Do you know how many students have lost their lives because of your negligence? This is dereliction of duty; I must sue you all!"

For a moment, the surviving students turned their heads to look over.

Captain Han Le, faced with the accusations from Luo Ken, also furrowed his brows.

Standing next to Han Le, Vice-Captain Sima said helplessly,

"Principal Luo Ken, your blame really is unreasonable. We were resting in the dormitory at this late hour. As soon as we heard the alarm, we rushed out immediately heading straight for the hangar. It takes time to get to the hangar, right? It takes time to activate the mechas, right? And the city is so large, it takes time to fly over, right? Arriving this quickly was already quite good."

Upon hearing Sima's rebuttal, Luo Ken was at a loss for words for a moment. But he didn't give up, instead directly turning the blame towards Daniel and the others.

"Then it's your fault, as the Patrol Guards, for not coming to rescue immediately, leading to heavy student casualties, I must sue you all!"
