Chapter 16 Tracking

As dusk approached, Double Xie and Lei Buji's carriage left Liu Village and headed east again.

Although they had clarified to the villagers that they were not swindlers, and the villagers seemed to have believed them, because of the previous incident, they absolutely refused to spend the night at the village inn.

After all, they were only three, and there were at least dozens, if not hundreds, of deceived villagers in the village. Who could say for sure whether some unrelenting villagers wouldn't attack or cause trouble at night?

Therefore, the trio simply inquired about the information of the two swindlers from the shopkeeper and the villagers and set off again on the pretext of "immediately pursuing the swindlers."

Since it was not too late, if they left now and hurried along the main road, they should be able to reach the next post station shortly after dark.
