Chapter 18 Consensus (Part 1)

Afternoon, old temple.

The temple's stone steps were adorned with green moss.

The sky outside the temple was scattered with a fine drizzle.

In this place just a step away from the rain, huddled around the stove, warming ourselves, listening to the rain, and then enjoying a pot of stewed wild vegetables with chicken, was indeed a delight.

Such pleasure in hardship, appreciating the rain and leisure, is something we modern people rarely get the chance to experience.

After all, we have air conditioning, computers, phones... You sit in an air-conditioned room, stare at the screen, your body naturally in comfort, and most of the time, your brain is in a state of passive reception, not requiring much thought to produce endorphins, so we mostly don't step out of our comfort zones to do inconvenient and unfamiliar things.
