Chapter 25 "Hundred Days Arena" (Part 2)

According to the storytellers, Shi Danai fought at the arena because he accidentally killed someone, which led to legal trouble, but the Beiping King Luo Yi, valuing his talent, could not bear to have him executed, so he ordered Shi Danai to fight at Shunyi Manor to redeem himself.

The "Hundred Days Arena" set up by Song Xiang, however, had no such reasons behind it.

Speaking of manslaughter, Song Xiang had directly or indirectly caused the deaths of far more people than Shi Danai, and he did so intentionally, without any claim of an "accident."

But... Song Xiang had his backers, so it didn't matter.

So, his arena was merely set up to show off; and apart from the couplet hanging below the stage that was brimming with provocation, he also offered silver, with a plaque on the side stating, "Anyone who conquers the arena will be rewarded with one hundred taels of silver."

Ladies and gentlemen, that's not a small amount of money.
