Becoming a Crime Lord

At his office, Daniel Kline was enjoying some light banter with his colleagues, laughing about trivial matters to pass the time, since nothing important seemed to be happening at the moment at the office.

All the cases they had were so minor that they didn't require much attention from anyone at their level.

In the middle of their chatter and laughter, Daniel's phone rang suddenly, leaving him a bit confused when he saw his home phone number on the caller ID, especially since it hadn't been long since he left for work.

"Yes? Is everything okay?" he said as soon as he answered the phone. Daniel's eyes widened when he heard his maid crying on the other end of the phone, telling him about the men who broke into the house just minutes ago. "Thieves? Are you okay?" he asked, shooting up from his seat.
