Chapter 121-122-123

Chapter 121: "Media Spotlight and Rumors"

Derek was back at his hotel in Paris, exhausted but satisfied with the excitement of the previous day. The US basketball team's victory in the Olympics was still resonating in his mind. He decided to relax a bit before preparing for the return home, but as always, the fame and attention that accompanied the Kardashian-Jenner family soon caught up with him.

While in his room, Derek picked up his phone and began checking his messages. One notification caught his eye: a series of photos had been posted on several gossip accounts about his conversation with Devin Booker. He was curious to see what the media was saying.

Opening one of the main gossip accounts, he saw a series of images of himself and Devin, smiling and high-fiving, captured as they chatted after the game victory. Captions ranged from "Derek Rogan and Devin Booker: Connections that go beyond the court" to "Kendall Jenner's ex-boyfriend and the CIA's new hero: An unusual conversation in Paris."

Derek shook his head, an involuntary smile forming on his face. The media really did love to turn simple moments into sensational stories. However, he was not prepared for what was to come. The photos soon began to spread across social media, generating fervent comments from fans and followers.

"These two looked cozy. Does Kendall have reason to be jealous?" one user said.

"Derek is a nice guy. I hope they are just getting along!" another commented.

"Wouldn't be the first ex-boyfriend of Kendall's to get along with the Kardashian family. We're already seeing that happen with Travis Kelce," someone wrote, referencing Taylor Swift's boyfriend.

Derek laughed at some of the messages, but couldn't help but feel a little uncomfortable at the thought of how the media might twist the events. He quickly texted Kylie to let her know about the repercussions.

"Hey babe. The media is releasing pictures of me and Devin, and it seems like they're making a big deal out of it. Don't worry, it was just a quick chat after the game," he typed, sending the message with a sigh.

A few minutes later, Kylie's reply arrived.

"You know how the media is, Derek. They'll do anything to create drama. The important thing is that you know the truth. If you need me, I can talk to Kendall so she doesn't have to worry about it," she replied, ever practical and calm.

Derek appreciated the way Kylie handled the situation. After a few minutes, he decided to go for a walk, get some fresh air, and try to ignore the media buzz for a while.

As he walked through the streets of Paris, he couldn't help but notice how the city was bustling with life, with tourists and locals alike enjoying the beauty of the place.

At the same time, he felt the weight of the cameras that seemed to follow his every step. People recognized him, some even asked for pictures. Derek always seemed friendly and approachable, but what worried him most was the possibility that the talk about Devin and Kendall would start to intensify.

When he got back to the hotel, he turned on the television and started watching some news. The gossip channel was full of stories about his conversation with Devin, and there was an interview with a "celebrity expert" commenting on the situation.

"The chemistry between Derek Rogan and Devin Booker was palpable. We all know Devin used to be in a relationship with Kendall Jenner, so this could cause some ripples in the family dynamic," the expert said, as the camera showed pictures of them again.

Derek muttered to himself, "Great, as if I needed that right now." He felt a little irritated by the way the media was playing with people's emotions and personal relationships.

It wasn't long before Kylie called him.

"Derek, are you watching this?" she asked, her voice clear and calm.

"Yes, I just watched it. It's a disaster. They're making a big deal out of a normal conversation."

"I know. And I understand how you feel. It's not fair that they do this, but the truth is, we're all a part of this crazy celebrity world. We can't change that," Kylie said, her tone comforting.

"You're right. I just wish things were simpler. I don't want this to cause problems between Kendall and Devin," Derek replied.

Kylie sighed on the other end of the line.

"I'm going to talk to Kendall. I don't want her to worry. I'm going to let her know that this was just a friendly conversation between you and Devin. And I'm going to make sure she doesn't take it personally."

Derek was relieved by Kylie's attitude. He knew the situation might be uncomfortable, especially for Kendall, but his wife's strength always comforted him. They said their goodbyes, and Derek decided to try to relax before heading home.

The next morning, Derek was agreed by a barrage of messages and notifications. He quickly checked his phone and noticed that there was a new series of posts about him and Devin. This time, the media was talking about the possibility of "drama" between Kendall and Devin, insinuating that Kendall was upset about their conversation.

"I really don't need this," he muttered, putting his phone away and trying to ignore the noise.

After breakfast, Derek decided it was time to head home. He had a family he loved and wanted to be there for them, away from the hustle and bustle and drama the media was creating. He began packing his bags, thinking about how he would explain the situation to Kylie and the kids.

Upon arriving at the airport, Derek was greeted with an unusual amount of camera flashes and questions from reporters. He tried to ignore them and focus on checking in for his flight. However, one of the reporters managed to approach him.

"Derek!" How do you feel about the speculation surrounding your conversation with Devin Booker? Will it affect your relationship with Kendall Jenner?

Derek paused for a moment, feeling the weight of the question. He took a deep breath before answering.

"Look, Devin and I are friends, and it was just a friendly conversation. There's nothing more to it than that. Kendall and Devin have a history, and I don't want anything to get in the way of their relationship. That's all I have to say," he replied, maintaining a respectful tone.

With that, he walked away, eager to get away from the scene.

Finally, after a few hours, Derek boarded the plane and, as soon as it took off, he felt a slight sense of relief. He knew that when he got home, he could focus on his family, away from the critical glare of the media. Deep down, he hoped that all the confusion would dissipate soon and that, in time, things would return to normal.

When he arrived home, he was greeted with warm hugs from Kylie and the kids. Stormi ran up to him with a huge smile, while Aire, still small, waved his arms, happy to see his father. Derek felt complete again.

"Daddy! You were at the game! Did you see LeBron?" Stormi asked, her voice full of excitement.

"Yes, I did, sweetie! He played great!" Derek replied, pulling Stormi closer as he looked at Kylie, who was smiling.

"I'm so glad you're home. I was starting to miss you," Kylie said, wrapping him in a warm hug.

"I miss you guys too." Derek looked into Kylie's eyes, feeling the pressure and stress of the week melt away.

"The media was going crazy with those pictures of you with Devin, but I already talked to Kendall, and she's fine. Don't worry," Kylie said, noticing the worry that still hung over him.

"Thank God. I hope this mess blows over soon," Derek replied, relaxing a little.

That night, as they gathered for dinner, Derek realized that despite the craziness of the outside world, his family was what really mattered.

Conversation flowed naturally, with laughter and banter between everyone, making him feel at home again. And as he looked at his family's joy, he knew he could handle whatever challenges the media or life threw his way.

Chapter 122: "Clarifications and Reconnections"

It was a quiet morning in Los Angeles, and Derek had been home for a few days after his trip to Paris. The drama surrounding the photos of him and Devin Booker was still circulating in the media, but things seemed to be starting to calm down. Kylie had assured her that Kendall was fine with everything, but Derek felt he needed to speak to her directly to clear things up.

He knew that the relationship between Kendall and Devin had been significant, and the last thing he wanted was to cause any discomfort in the family because of a misunderstanding. After having coffee with Kylie and the kids, Derek decided it was time to have that conversation.

"Honey, I'm going to spend some time with Kendall today. I think we should talk about what happened in Paris. I don't want her to think I intended to create any discomfort," Derek said, as Kylie nodded in agreement.

"I think it's a good idea. She's fine with everything, but I know she'll appreciate you taking the initiative to clear things up." Kendall has always valued honesty," Kylie replied with a supportive smile.

Derek kissed Kylie and left the house, heading towards Kendall's house. On the way, he thought about how he would approach the subject in a light and pressure-free manner. He wanted Kendall to know that, to him, their relationship as brothers-in-law was important, and that he would never do anything to hurt her.

When he arrived at Kendall's house, he rang the doorbell and waited. A few seconds later, Kendall opened the door with a friendly smile on her face.

"Hey, Derek! What a surprise! What brings you here?" she said, with her usual warm tone.

"Hi, Kendall. Can I come in? I wanted to talk to you for a few minutes, if that's okay," Derek replied, keeping his tone relaxed but direct.

Kendall frowned slightly, curious, but nodded.

"Sure, come in. Let's talk in the living room," she said, as she led Derek to the couch, where they both sat.

There was a slight silence in the air as Derek pondered how to begin. He leaned forward, resting his elbows on his knees, before finally speaking.

"I wanted to talk about that whole mess with the pictures of Paris, you know, of me and Devin. I know the media makes a big deal out of a teacup, but I don't want it to have caused you any discomfort," Derek said, looking directly at Kendall, sincere in every word.

Kendall, who had maintained a calm expression, shook her head.

"Oh, Derek, you don't have to worry about that. I saw the news, but honestly, it didn't bother me. I know how the media loves to create stories out of nothing," she replied, smiling slightly, trying to ease any tension Derek might be feeling.

Derek sighed, relieved by her answer, but still felt the need to continue explaining.

"I just wanted you to know that it was a super casual conversation. I was there to support LeBron, and Devin was there because of the team too. He came up to me and we started talking, but that was it. Just a friendly greeting between acquaintances. There was nothing more, and I definitely don't want this to create any misunderstandings between us" — Derek said, emphasizing his words with a sincerity visible on his face.

Kendall smiled, touching Derek's arm lightly.

"I believe you, Derek. I know Devin, and I know how complicated things can be when the media starts creating crazy theories. If they saw you two talking, of course they would make something up, but that doesn't mean I take these things seriously. You don't have to worry about that," Kendall said, with a light laugh, trying to lighten the mood.

Derek smiled, feeling even more at ease.

"I'm glad you're okay with it. I really value our relationship as a family, Kendall. I would never do anything that could hurt you," he said, sincerely, looking into Kendall's eyes.

Kendall shook her head, the smile remaining on her face.

"I know that, Derek. You've always been respectful to me and everyone around us. Besides, Devin and I have a past, but it's in the past, you know? The important thing is that you and Kylie are happy now, and that's what really matters to all of us," she replied, showing a maturity and calmness that Derek had always admired.

There was a pause, and then Kendall stood up, heading to the kitchen.

"I'm going to get us something to drink. Would you like some tea or something?" she asked, as she headed over.

"Tea would be great, thanks!" Derek replied, feeling even more relaxed now that the conversation was flowing so well.

As Kendall prepared the drinks, Derek stood up and looked around the room. He had always admired the minimalist, modern style of Kendall's home, which reflected a lot of her personality simple, but with elegant touches. Some a few minutes later, Kendall returned with two cups of tea and sat down next to him.

"So, what else have you been up to? I heard you and Kylie are planning a family trip," Kendall asked, changing the subject to something lighter.

Derek nodded, taking a sip of his tea before answering.

"Yes, we're thinking about taking the kids to a quiet place, just the four of us. We want some peace, away from the media and commitments for a while," he said, smiling at the thought of Stormi and Aire.

Kendall smiled, nodding.

"That sounds perfect. You deserve some time to yourselves. Life in the spotlight can be exhausting, and I know how it can be, especially with small children involved," she said, taking a sip of her tea.

The conversation continued in a relaxed manner, with both of them talking about their family, Kendall's projects and how she was dealing with the hectic pace of public life. Derek could see how much Kylie's sister had grown over the years, handling the pressures of fame with grace and maturity.

After a while, Kendall approached Derek and hugged him affectionately.

"Thank you for coming to talk to me, Derek. I really appreciate it, and don't worry. Everything is fine between us. We're family, and I trust you," she said, her tone soft and warm.

Derek smiled and hugged her back.

"I appreciate it too, Kendall. I'm relieved to know that we're all okay. You know you can count on me for anything," he replied, as they both broke away from the hug.

"I always knew that," Kendall said, with a sincere smile.

The afternoon passed quickly, and Derek felt lighter now that he had cleared everything up with Kendall. He knew that the media could continue to make up stories, but at least within the family, things were clear and peaceful. When he finally said goodbye to Kendall and headed home, Derek walked through the front door and was greeted by Kylie and the kids.

"How did the conversation go?" Kylie asked curiously as she held Aire in her arms.

"It was great. She's fine with everything. It was such a relief to talk to her directly," Derek said, smiling as he kissed Kylie on the forehead.

"I knew everything would be okay. Now you can relax and enjoy the rest of the day with us," Kylie said, pulling him into a hug as Stormi ran over to them.

Derek felt at peace, surrounded by the family he loved. He knew that in the end, all that mattered was the truth between them and the support they shared. The outside world could speculate all it wanted, but inside his home, everything was exactly as it should be: with love, trust, and understanding.

Chapter 123: "Revelations and Shocks in September"

It was early September 2024, and Derek woke up as usual, next to Kylie, with the sun shining through the windows of their spacious Los Angeles home. Everything seemed peaceful that morning, until a notification on Derek's phone caught his attention.

He saw the name "P Diddy" highlighted in every headline, followed by the words "arrested" and "Freak Offs". Intrigued, he opened the news story and began reading. The story unfolding before his eyes was disturbing, to say the least.

The article detailed the arrest of rapper and music mogul P Diddy, accused of involvement in secret parties known as "Freak Offs", private and bizarre events in Hollywood where various illicit activities and outrageous behavior took place.

The investigation, which had been kept secret for months, finally led to Diddy's arrest, and the media went wild with the news. With each new update, more sordid details emerged about what went on at these parties.

Derek sat on the edge of the bed, processing the news. He could hardly believe what he was reading.

"Kylie… you have to see this," he said, his tone serious.

Kylie, still half asleep, slowly stood up and looked at Derek curiously.

"What happened?" she asked, as she approached Derek and took the phone from his hands to see what he was reading.

Seeing the headlines and details about the "Freak Offs," Kylie's eyes widened.

"Oh my God… this is horrible," she said, her expression one of disgust and shock.

Derek, still speechless, stood up and began to pace the room. He had always known that Hollywood could be a place full of excess and secrets, but what he was reading was beyond anything he could have imagined.

"This is surreal." I knew weird parties happened around here, but this level of depravity? I can't believe it. Tell me you've never been to something like this, Kylie," Derek said, with a mix of concern and seriousness in his voice.

Kylie, now fully awake and also bothered by the news, turned to him.

"No, of course not! I've never been to anything like this. And honestly, I've never heard of anything like this until now," she replied, genuinely horrified.

Derek breathed a sigh of relief, but there was still something that bothered him deeply. He looked at Kylie, his eyes fixed on hers.

"What about anyone in your family? Has anyone mentioned these parties?" Derek asked, a little more cautious now. He knew that the Kardashian-Jenner family was at the heart of Hollywood and always involved in exclusive events and parties.

Kylie was silent for a moment, pondering Derek's question.

"Look, my family has always been involved in big events and parties, but nothing like this. No one has ever told me about anything like this. The parties we attend are either public or business-related, always full of important people, paparazzi and security guards everywhere. I've never seen anything that suggested anything like these "Freak Offs" — she said, trying to reassure him.

Derek nodded, but still looked uneasy. He stopped walking and sat back down on the bed, running his hand through his hair, clearly disturbed by what he read. The idea that these parties were happening behind the scenes in Hollywood made him uncomfortable.

"I always knew there was something rotten in certain circles in Hollywood, but this... This is something darker. I can't imagine that so many people knew or participated, and it was all covered up for so long," he said in a serious tone.

Kylie, sensing Derek's discomfort, approached and put her hand on his shoulder.

"Hey, you don't have to worry about that. We're not part of that world, and we don't want to be. It just goes to show how important it is to choose who we associate with," she said, trying to calm him down.

— I know, Kylie. But still... This kind of thing affects the entire industry. People we think are normal or trustworthy can be involved in this. It's disgusting — Derek replied, still thinking.

As they talked, the notifications on Kylie's phone also started to appear. The media was in a frenzy over Diddy's arrest, and speculation about who else might be involved in the secret parties was spreading like wildfire. Some tabloids were even starting to mention high-profile celebrities, suggesting that many big names in Hollywood could be implicated.

Kylie picked up her phone and read some of the headlines out loud.

— 'More Reveals About P Diddy's 'Freak Offs', 'Who Else Is Involved in Secret Hollywood Parties?' — She paused, turning to Derek. — This is going to get ugly. The media is going to turn this into a circus.

Derek nodded.

— It's only a matter of time before more names come out. But the important thing is that we stay out of it, and that no one in our family is involved," he said.

Kylie nodded.

"Of course. We never hang out with that kind of people. And I'm sure my sisters aren't involved in any of this either. We'll talk to them just to be sure, but I know they'd be horrified by it too."

Derek nodded, feeling a little more at ease with Kylie's answer. He knew the Kardashian-Jenner family was always in the spotlight, but so far, he had been confident that they kept their distance from anything as sinister as this.

Later that day, as the news continued to circulate and more details emerged, Derek and Kylie decided to gather the family together to talk. They wanted to make sure everyone was aware of what was going on and avoid any kind of association with the rumors.

At the home of Kris Jenner, the family matriarch, everyone was gathered in the living room: Kim, Khloé, Kourtney, Kendall and Kylie, with Derek sitting next to his wife. Kris, as always, kept a serious and commanding expression.

"You've all seen the news, right?" Kris began, as her sisters nodded.

"Of course, it's impossible to escape it," Kim said, with a disgusted expression. "I can't believe something like this was going on for so long and no one knew about it."

"The media is going crazy. It's going to be hard to escape it, even if we had nothing to do with these parties," Khloé said, crossing her arms.

Kendall, who was sitting next to Kylie, looked at Derek.

"Do you think this will affect the industry for a long time?" she asked, with a worried expression.

Derek shrugged.

"Absolutely. When something like this comes out, people's trust in entertainment and public figures is shaken. A lot of people can be exposed, and it's not going to be pretty," he replied frankly.

Kylie held Derek's hand as Kris stood up to end the meeting.

"The most important thing is that we stay away from it." Our family is not involved with these types of people, and we don't need to be dragged into this mess. We're going to keep doing what we do, with integrity," Kris said firmly.

The family agreed, and everyone went back to their respective routines. But the revelation of the "Freak Offs" and the arrest of P Diddy continued to haunt the Hollywood scene, leaving an air of uncertainty and distrust. Derek, still uneasy, knew that this was just the beginning of something much bigger.
