The sun blazed high above the training ground, casting long shadows as the team gathered in a clearing surrounded by towering trees. It was a rare moment of peace—a chance for the team to train together, refine their skills, and, as Cameron liked to put it, "prepare for whatever chaos is next."
Simon, wearing his usual look of calm focus, stood to the side, eyes calculating. "We should begin by focusing on form. Without proper technique, even the greatest abilities are useless."
Cameron, standing next to him, cracked his knuckles. "Right, right, but today I'm going full power. No holding back. It's time to see what I can do when I'm really pushed."
"Cameron, we're just warming up," Simon said with a sigh. "You're not getting into full transformation mode yet."
"I'll warm up in my own way," Cameron replied, grinning.
Akamatsu was stretching nearby, flames flickering around his hands as he prepared. "Let's get this started already. I've been wanting to try a new move."
Ken, wearing a determined look, was adjusting his gloves. "I'm going to work on my time manipulation. I need more precision."
Mrs. Mi rolled her eyes, a smirk playing on her lips. "You all talk big, but remember—this is training. Let's see how much you can really handle before you start getting cocky."
At the sound of her challenge, the rest of the team got into position, each eager to show off their skills. The training ground, once quiet, was now filled with the promise of a friendly competition.
Round 1: Strength vs. Strategy
Cameron stepped forward first, cracking his neck. "Alright, Simon, you and me. We'll see who's faster—your brain or my brawn."
Simon raised an eyebrow but nodded. "Fine, but don't say I didn't warn you."
Cameron sprinted forward with lightning speed, aiming for a swift punch to Simon's face. But Simon, as always, was prepared. With a swift movement, he dodged and sent a pulse of energy to throw Cameron off balance. Cameron stumbled, but before he could recover, Simon flicked his wrist, creating an energy barrier that repelled him back several feet.
"Speed isn't enough, Cameron," Simon said coolly, as if this was a simple calculation. "You need more than power."
Cameron scowled but grinned. "Alright, you're good with those tricks. But I've got something else for you!"
He activated his cosmic transformation for a brief moment, making his muscles swell with raw power, and lunged at Simon again. But this time, Simon wasn't the only one who had prepared. Akamatsu, standing in the background, suddenly shouted, "Watch out!"
A burst of flames erupted from Akamatsu's hands, creating a barrier of fire between Cameron and Simon. The heat was intense, forcing Cameron to stop in his tracks and give Akamatsu a look of mock annoyance.
"You're not supposed to help!" Cameron grumbled.
Akamatsu shrugged, unphased. "It's all about teamwork, right?"
Ken, still trying to get his time manipulation down, laughed nervously from the sidelines. "Uh, maybe I should step in before things get too out of hand."
Round 2: Time Manipulation Misfire
Ken stepped forward with determination, ready to show off his control over time. He focused hard, intending to slow down Cameron's movements so he could demonstrate a perfect dodge. But as soon as he activated his ability, everything froze... except for him.
Ken blinked in confusion. "Uh... wait, that's not right. I only meant to slow Cameron down!"
Akamatsu, who had been preparing another fiery attack, suddenly found himself moving in slow motion, his movements exaggerated and clumsy as the world around him froze.
"Ken!" Akamatsu yelled, flailing his arms like a windmill. "This is not the time to make everything freeze!"
"Sorry! Sorry! I just..." Ken waved his hands frantically, trying to reverse the effect, but ended up accelerating everyone instead. Cameron, whose muscles had been locked in the middle of his leap, suddenly shot across the field faster than anyone could track, crashing into a tree with a massive thud.
The team erupted into laughter.
"Nice, Ken," Mrs. Mi said with a grin. "You've managed to make this whole training session more chaotic than any monster fight we've had."
Ken sheepishly waved his hands in apology. "I'm still working on the details, okay?"
Round 3: Mrs. Mi's Martial Arts Mayhem
Mrs. Mi, her patience wearing thin after the training disaster, decided to show everyone how it was done. She stepped forward with a confidence that could only come from years of martial arts training. With a sly grin, she directed her gaze at Cameron.
"Let me show you all how it's done, without the flashy powers or big moves." She dropped into a stance that was both graceful and intimidating.
Cameron, still trying to recover from the time manipulation fiasco, grinned. "You sure you want to go up against me? I'm pretty unstoppable right now."
Without warning, Mrs. Mi surged forward, moving so fast that Cameron didn't even have time to react. A swift kick to the chest sent him flying back, and before he could recover, she had already moved to the next target, Akamatsu. Her speed and precision were unmatched, and in seconds, she had taken down every member of the team, one by one, with a combination of acrobatics, pressure points, and just the right amount of force.
The last thing Cameron saw before hitting the ground was Mrs. Mi, standing with her hands on her hips, smiling triumphantly.
"See?" Mrs. Mi said, her voice calm. "No cosmic transformation required."
Akamatsu groaned from the ground. "Okay, okay. We get it. You're strong."
Ken, meanwhile, was still frozen in time, staring at the ground in utter confusion. "How did she do that?"
Simon, finally able to catch his breath, took off his glasses and wiped them. "Because she's been training longer than we've all been alive, Ken."
Round 4: Unlikely Teamwork
After several more rounds of training, each filled with misfires, accidental explosions, and random bursts of powers, the team finally regrouped for a quick rest.
"Okay, maybe we should just stick to basics for now," Cameron said, rubbing his head where Mrs. Mi had knocked him out cold. "What happened to 'training' and 'improving skills'?"
Simon, ever the strategist, adjusted his glasses. "Well, chaos certainly ensued, but in the end, I'd say this was a successful session."
"Successful?" Akamatsu said, giving Simon a deadpan look. "We nearly killed each other."
"Exactly," Simon said, a slight grin tugging at his lips. "Success is measured in survival, after all."
Ken, having finally fixed his time manipulation, shrugged. "I'll take the survival part. Next time, though, I'm sticking to math problems."
The team burst out laughing, the sound echoing through the trees. They had all learned something today, even if it wasn't what they had planned. Whether it was controlling power, improving precision, or just learning how to dodge an unexpected fireball, each of them had grown stronger—and they'd done it together.
The day ended with bruises, laughter, and the knowledge that no matter how chaotic things got, they could always count on one another.
