Theresa woke up to the gentle sunlight streaming through the curtains. She rubbed her belly, then glanced at the still-sleeping figure of her beloved Lord Luo Qing beside her.
With a sigh, she rose from the bed, massaging her sore lower back as she shuffled unsteadily toward the door.
They say the land can't get overworked, only the ox. But I think this "field" of mine is at its limit…
When she first came to Fontaine, she had been thrilled to have Lord Luo Qing all to herself. But now she realized she had been naive.
I can't do this alone anymore. I need reinforcements!
Casting one last glance at Luo Qing's peacefully sleeping face, Theresa steeled her resolve and headed to the bathroom.
Once inside, she locked the door and stood before the mirror. With a thought, a faint purple mark appeared on her chest.
Moments later, a soft glow of Electro energy radiated from the mark, forming the shape of an ominous eye, which slowly opened.
"Is something wrong, Theresa?" came Ei's calm voice from the Eye. She sounded slightly surprised to be contacted so suddenly.
The ominous eye was something Ei had secretly inscribed onto Theresa before she left for Fontaine, allowing Theresa to communicate with her sisters across vast distances via the Plane of Euthymia.
While not as sophisticated as the Sumeru Void Terminals, it was a reliable emergency tool. And as Theresa often addressed her sisters with sweet terms of endearment, Ei felt it only right to provide some form of protection.
"Big Sister Ei, is Big Sister Makoto there? I have something urgent to report!"
"Makoto?" Ei raised a brow but glanced at the woman knitting beside her.
"Makoto, Theresa wants to speak with you."
"Theresa?" Makoto set her knitting aside and approached the ominous eye. "What's the matter, Theresa?"
"It's urgent!" Theresa exclaimed, tears brimming in her eyes as her mind flashed back to the bittersweet memories of her time with Luo Qing.
I'm sorry, Lord Luo Qing… but I must do this!
"Lord Luo Qing has… has started seeing that Hydro Archon!"
"...What?"
The knitting yarn in Makoto's hands snapped.
"They're… involved?" she asked slowly.
"Yes! Recently, it's either Lord Luo Qing going to visit the Hydro Archon, or she's coming to find him. I can't stop them!"
Theresa painted a vivid picture of Luo Qing and Furina's seemingly affectionate interactions. She knew that if she simply admitted she couldn't handle Luo Qing alone, her sisters might just tease her and tell her to take better care of herself.
But if she framed it as Luo Qing becoming entangled with Furina, a potential rival Archon, there was no way Makoto and Bu'er would sit idly by.
Adding another Archon to the harem contest? Not a chance!
The image of nights spent exhausting herself while trying to keep up flashed through Theresa's mind.
If even one sister comes to Fontaine to help, it'll ease my burden so much…
Makoto fell silent, her mind reviewing memories from the future.
This doesn't make sense. According to the timeline, Furina shouldn't fall for him this quickly… She may seem fragile, but in reality…
"What's their current… status?" Makoto asked carefully.
"I'm not sure," Theresa replied hesitantly. "But last night, Lord Luo Qing spent hours in the Hydro Archon's chambers. I fell asleep before he returned…"
"..."
Makoto's frown deepened.
Could something have disrupted the sequence of events?
"I see. Theresa, keep an eye on them for now," Makoto finally said.
"Leave it to me, Big Sister!" Theresa puffed out her chest proudly. "I'll make sure to gather all the intel on Lord Luo Qing and the Hydro Archon!"
After a pause, she added hesitantly, "Big Sister, will you be coming here? I'm afraid I can't handle the Hydro Archon alone…"
Makoto considered this, then nodded.
"I'll think about it. In the meantime, thank you for your efforts, Theresa."
"No problem, Big Sister…" Theresa's voice wavered as tears filled her eyes.
Even if my back hurts, I'll endure!
Hearing footsteps approaching from outside, Theresa hurriedly whispered, "Big Sister, I think Lord Luo Qing is waking up. I have to go!"
She quickly deactivated the ominous eye, the purple mark fading back into her chest.
Not a moment later, the bathroom door opened, and Luo Qing stepped inside, wearing nothing but a pair of shorts.
"Theresa? Why are you kneeling in front of the toilet?"
"I…" Theresa panicked but quickly regained her composure.
"Lord Luo Qing, I was… planning to take a bath."
"A bath?" Luo Qing raised a brow.
"Since when does taking a bath involve kneeling by the toilet?"
"This… um…" Theresa's mind raced. She knew that if Luo Qing discovered her tattling, she'd be in real trouble.
In a moment of desperation, her eyes landed on his shorts.
With a sudden idea, she stood up and wrapped her arms around his waist, speaking in a soft, coquettish voice.
"Let's not worry about that, Lord Luo Qing. Since you're here, why don't we bathe together~?"
"..."
Meanwhile, in Mondstadt
After ending the call, Makoto set her knitting aside and pressed a hand to her temple, a slight unease flickering across her face.
"Is something wrong in Fontaine?" Ei asked, setting down the light novel she had been reading.
"Nothing major," Makoto replied, shaking her head slightly. "I just didn't expect Luo Qing to move so quickly…"
According to her memories of the future, Luo Qing and Furina wouldn't become close for at least another six months. But from Theresa's tone, it sounded like they were already… involved.
The timeline is accelerating. Something's not right.
Makoto frowned, deep in thought. After a moment, she slapped her thigh and turned to Ei.
"This won't do. We need to head to Fontaine immediately. Sister, pack your things!"
"Eh?" Ei blinked, caught off guard.
"But didn't Luo Qing specifically tell us not to come without his permission?"
"If what Theresa said is true, we don't have a choice," Makoto said seriously. "If we're too late, Luo Qing could be in danger!"
"Danger?!" Ei's expression turned grave.
"Is this an issue with Fontaine? Should I bring troops from Inazuma?"
"That won't be necessary," Makoto replied. "You and Nahida will be enough."
"I'll pack right away," Ei said, setting down her book.
Makoto nodded firmly.
"I'll inform Bu'er and her daughter. We must leave for Fontaine as soon as possible!"
