Light and Shadow 10: A Spellbound Meeting

Light and Shadow 10: A Spellbound Meeting

But what caught my attention more was his eyes… they were a deep, piercing blue, like the vast ocean on a stormy day. Yet, within their depths, a blue flame seemed to flicker, a mysterious fiery intensity that seemed to draw me from within.

The contrast between the cool, calm surface and the smoldering depths made his eyes both captivating and intimidating which seemed to hold a depth of intelligence and a hint of danger. As the light dances across his irises, the flames seem to flicker and shift, making it look peculiar.

A mesmerizing blue light flickered within his eyes as if a flame were burning deep within them and dancing beneath the surface. His eyes, filled with a captivating blue flame, held me in thrall. I was spellbound, unable to resist their enchanting glow.

This was the first time I had ever seen such peculiar eyes.

His gaze, a captivating blend of serenity and power, can both soothe and intimidate. He was a figure that commanded respect and attention, even from a distance and was capable of inspiring both admiration and fear.

“And I didn’t know that Headmistress Fe had a pervert student,” he said, his tone inscrutable. His infuriating smirk suggested sarcasm, but his words were delivered in a way that was difficult to decipher.

His comments snapped me out of my trance as I stood up, and my face grimaced as I glared at him. “I’m not a pervert!” I said, my annoyance flaring. “How dare you say that towards me?!” I added, my irritation evident.

Now that we were standing face to face, I realized just how tall he was. His broad shoulders and chest made him look incredibly masculine. I was only as tall as his shoulders, and I felt like a small, defenseless rabbit facing a large, intimidating wolf.

His ear piercing of silver and black gave him a rugged, bad-boy look that added to his intimidating presence. And despite his casual attire, his attractiveness and aura were undeniable. He was so ridiculously handsome that it should be illegal.

He was unfairly blessed with good looks.

He smirked smugly, but it only fueled my annoyance. He might be handsome, but he was so irritating that I couldn’t resist rolling my eyes at him before deciding to leave him there. However, I felt his warm hand on my arm, seemingly stopping me, and what followed was unexpected.

As soon as our skin touched, I felt a strange jolt of energy, followed by a sudden force that pushed us apart. We stumbled to the ground, but the sensation still lingered, and I knew we both felt the same intense sensation.

But because of what happened, I just saw the guy looking at me while his eyes filled with a lot of questions. I hadn’t fully recovered from what happened when I heard people coming in our direction, and my instinct was screaming at me to escape, which is what I did.

I ran, and I was relieved that the guy didn’t stop me this time. I just went running to where Mimi and Nana were, and I immediately found them in the hallway. However, it made me wonder when I noticed that they seemed to be anxious, especially Mimi.

She was only relieved when she saw me. After joining Mimi and Nana, they hastily bid farewell to Headmistress Fe. We departed Stanford Academy promptly, while I remained silent. As our car drove away, I noticed a group of people running towards the spot where Headmistress Fe was.

My gaze was initially drawn to the man I had encountered earlier. However, a fleeting glimpse of a familiar woman among the group caught my attention. A familiar face stirred a longing within me, and I was unable to look away until the academy gates closed.

Among the mysterious group, I recognized a familiar face: Candice, my childhood friend.

***

I have two immortal childhood friends who reside in the Luminous Realm. Their parents and Mimi and Nana were close friends, which is how we became friends as well. They used to visit us here during vacations or every time they had the chance.

However, after my tenth birthday, they stopped coming. The reason was heartbreaking, but I remained hopeful of reuniting with them someday and repairing our friendship. Seeing Candice after seven years, I was struck by how she had blossomed into a beautiful and elegant woman.

Now I couldn’t help but ponder if our other childhood friend had crossed paths with her in the Luminous Realm… Mimi and Nana were still anxious that day, and Mimi kept asking if I had encountered that group which was confusing.

Her anxiety made me lie, telling her I hadn’t while keeping my encounter with the handsome but annoying man a secret. I sighed, trying to forget about what happened last Saturday at Stanford Academy. I hadn’t heard from Azriel since then, but I had a feeling our paths would cross again.

Perhaps not here in the Mortal Realm, but in the Luminous Realm.

It’s Monday, and I have classes to attend. We spent our time yesterday preparing for our departure, so it was a hectic day for the three of us. I don’t know the exact departure date yet, but it will be this week. In the meantime, I have to attend my classes.

My day at school was uneventful, just like any other day. That’s why after class, I planned to straight home like usual, but I suddenly craved a strawberry frappe. My favorite café is just around the corner from my school, so I decided to grab one.

I walked over, and since it’s also popular with students, I wasn’t surprised to see a group of them already there. I’m not fond of crowded places, but since I wanted to satisfy my craving, I decided to endure it a little longer.

I joined the queue and waited for my turn while observing the lively atmosphere of the café. It was a bit noisy due to the numerous customers, mainly students from my school. Yet, one customer stood out, drawing everyone’s attention.

In the corner, a man in casual clothes sat alone, silently sipping a caramel macchiato. He was engrossed in a book, and his presence was unmistakable, even amid the bustling café. As his body was facing me, I had a clear view of his face.

And then it dawned on me that he was the man I had met at the academy.
