"Stop, Rendra!" Ardan shouted, his voice firm and commanding. 


"No!" Rendra yelled back defiantly, meeting Ardan's sharp gaze without flinching. "I've already made up my mind. Once they find out I'm Bara's brother, they'll come after me. And they'll definitely know that I'd do anything for Nindi. In the end, she'd be used as leverage too... Before that happens, it's better if I take action first... Besides..." 


Ardan frowned at Rendra’s unfinished sentence. 


"Turns out, I was being baited..." Rendra said, raising an eyebrow. "Doesn't that mean... from the start, I was meant to be a sacrifice?"
