My Uncle My Husband

Arjuna, firm and commanding, told Aruna to get to class immediately—his tone sharp enough to catch the attention of the two men flanking her. That brief distraction was exactly the opening Aruna had been waiting for. Their grip on her loosened, the knife that had been pressing against her side pulled back slightly, and their attention momentarily shifted to Arjuna. 


Aruna shoved both men away with all her strength, struggling to break free from their hold. Arjuna, quick to act, rushed toward her the moment he saw the opening. He grabbed Aruna’s hand roughly, nearly causing her to stumble. 


The two men, surprised but not sluggish, reacted fast. One of them instinctively swung his knife toward Aruna—but Arjuna blocked it with his own arm. A fresh stream of blood immediately appeared from the gash. 


"Sir!" Aruna cried out, panicked, as she saw blood seeping from Arjuna’s arm.
