My Uncle My Husband

Ardan sat beside Aruna’s hospital bed, his eyes brimming with tears as she lay sleeping after receiving treatment. 


Having just awakened from surgery for a gunshot wound in his left shoulder, Ardan refused to rest as instructed by the doctors and nurses. He insisted on staying beside Aruna. In the end, the hospital—aware of the hardship that had befallen the newlywed couple—allowed them to share a room. 


"I'm sorry... I'm so sorry, Run..." Ardan murmured as he held Aruna's hand tightly. "I'm sorry you had to go through all this because of me..." He kept whispering, blaming himself, clutching her hand close to his face. "I didn’t know you were pregnant... I’m sorry I couldn’t protect our baby..." 


"Bang, you're being noisy!" Aruna suddenly scolded, waking up from his tearful remorse. "It’s not nice to hear..." 


"You were disturbed?" Ardan asked, looking guilty. 


"Eum..." Aruna nodded. "I don’t like hearing you blame yourself like that..."
