A Master and Servant with Stand Potential

Teenagers in their adolescence are naturally drawn to supernatural topics like superpowers.

Chika Fujiwara, with her lively personality, was especially curious.

Kaguya Shinomiya, though her expression remained cold—mostly out of reluctance to engage with others—still showed a flicker of interest in the subject.

Hayasaka Ai, on the other hand, seemed far calmer. She already knew the truth behind Shin's so-called "superpowers."

It's just Stands.

The Kiryu Group already had plenty of Stand users, enough to handle some of the Shinomiya family's troubles.

In fact, it was the promising collaboration between the Kiryu Group and the Shinomiyas that had made the family so eager to strengthen ties with Shin—hence this banquet.

Of course, Kaguya also knew that Shin's ability to intimidate the Shinomiyas wasn't just due to Stands.

That sky-shattering attack of his? Definitely not something a Stand alone could achieve.

But to this day, no one knew exactly how he'd done it.

"Well… I suppose you could say it's true."

Shin glanced at Fujiwara—asking such a question so bluntly was very much her style.

But he had no intention of hiding the truth.

Under the expectant gazes of Fujiwara and Kaguya, he slowly extended his hand.

When he opened it again, a golden "arrow" rested in his palm.

Not the Requiem Arrow—that one could evolve Stands but couldn't detect potential users like Kira Yoshihiro's arrow.

This one had been temporarily retrieved from Blackbird: Black Sabbath.

With just a thought, he could recall any of Blackbird's manifestations, making retrieving the arrow effortless.

"Wait, it's real?!"

Fujiwara covered her mouth, as if realizing she'd stumbled upon something monumental, then quickly glanced around.

Luckily, the surrounding elites seemed too engrossed in networking and business discussions to overhear.

A few still glanced Shin's way, but from this distance, they probably couldn't make out the conversation.

At least, that's what Fujiwara told herself.

Now that Shin had confirmed the existence of "superpowers," she finally understood why the Shinomiyas valued him so much.

From what she knew, Shin was just an "ordinary" high schooler—unremarkable family background, no extraordinary talents.

But if he had supernatural abilities, the Shinomiyas' interest made perfect sense.

Strangely, the moment she realized Shin wasn't ordinary, her heart raced with excitement—almost like a "See? The guy I liked was special all along!" feeling.

She quickly shook the thought away.

This is Kaguya's fiancé, Chika Fujiwara! Stop thinking like that!

"So… what does this arrow do?"

Unlike Fujiwara's exaggerated reaction, Kaguya's attention was fixed on the arrow.

Throughout their conversation, she had only chimed in occasionally, mostly echoing Fujiwara or Hayasaka.

Being treated as a "gift" for Shin by Oko, she couldn't help but feel tense and resentful beneath her calm exterior.

This was her first time speaking to Shin—and her first time initiating a question.

"What Fujiwara called 'superpowers' are actually known as 'Stands,'" Shin explained calmly.

"Whether someone can awaken a Stand depends on their innate potential."

He tapped the arrow lightly.

"And this arrow can detect that potential—helping those who qualify awaken their Stands, or what people here call 'superpowers.'"

This matched what Hayasaka already knew, so she simply picked up a dessert from the table and took a bite.

Being a maid was exhausting work.

Since she was here as Shin's attendant instead of serving, she might as well enjoy the banquet's delicacies.

But the moment Shin finished speaking—

The arrow in his hand reacted.

Hayasaka's eyes widened.

The tip of the arrow was now pointing straight at Kaguya, as if magnetically drawn to her.

"Ehhh?! So Kaguya has Stand potential?!"

Fujiwara's shocked exclamation rang out, tinged with a hint of disappointment.

The arrow hadn't reacted to her at all—meaning she lacked the potential to awaken a Stand.

Of course, if she really wanted one, there was a way.

Shin could use his 「Bestowal」 ability to grant her a fragment of a Stand's power.

It wouldn't be a naturally awakened Stand, but functionally, it would work the same.

After all, he'd already let several girls "borrow" Hayasaka's Stand—「Maid」—before.

"This confirms you do have the potential."

Shin gave Kaguya a surprised glance.

Her usual icy demeanor had completely melted away, replaced by wide-eyed astonishment.

Even she hadn't expected to qualify.

For someone who rarely showed interest in anything, her heartbeat quickened noticeably.

If I could gain powers like Shin's…

Would that mean I could finally take control of my own future?

But just as she stared at the arrow with hopeful eyes—

Shin put it away.

The sudden motion made Kaguya nearly stumble.

Regaining her balance, she glared at him, her unspoken question crystal clear:

Why would you take it back NOW?!

Shouldn't the next step be awakening my Stand?!

She'd even mentally rehearsed her gratitude—only for him to just show her the arrow and then pocket it?!
