Inside the Hyuga Clan compound, Lady Hyuga Ayako, wife of the clan head, walked through the hallways with her younger daughter, Hanabi.
As they passed by the dining room, Ayako instinctively glanced inside and was somewhat taken aback.
A servant from the Hyuga branch family was clearing the table, her hands full with an impressive stack of plates.
Seeing this, Ayako's eyes twitched slightly, and she asked softly, "Where is Hinata?"
Recently.
Hinata had changed drastically, showing a newfound dedication. No longer needing her father's encouragement, she trained tirelessly every day.
With most of her time dedicated to training, it had become rare for her to eat with the family.
Ayako had also received reports about her daughter's increasing appetite but hadn't paid it much mind, feeling more relieved than concerned.
She'd even instructed the staff to prepare extra portions, assuming her eldest daughter's rigorous training demanded more nutrition.
Yet, what she saw now was far beyond her expectations.
The branch family servant respectfully replied, "Lady Ayako, the young lady went off to train right after finishing her meal."
"All of this…." Hanabi, wide-eyed, asked in disbelief, "Did sister eat all of that?"
The absurd number of plates piled up before them made Hanabi wonder just how much her sister could eat in one sitting.
"Yes," the servant nodded slightly, trying to be tactful. "The young lady's appetite has been increasing recently. It's….quite a lot."
Mother and daughter exchanged looks, equally taken aback.
"Quite a lot? That's an understatement, she's eating like a glutton."
"She's consuming so much at once. Could there be something wrong?" Ayako voiced her concern.
"Not likely," the servant replied after a moment's thought.
"The young lady has been eating like this every day recently, and there haven't been any unusual issues.
It doesn't even feel like overeating, rather, it seems like she naturally requires this amount."
Ayako was speechless.
"Mother, could it be that sister was just holding back before, out of politeness, not daring to eat her fill in front of others?" Hanabi asked, blinking innocently.
Ayako fell silent again, looking toward the direction where her eldest daughter trained. She sighed softly, her heart filled with a pang of motherly guilt.
---
"Thud... Thud..."
In the training area, Hinata's hands, wrapped in bandages, struck repeatedly against the wooden training posts.
Her small face was drenched in sweat, radiating a look of intense focus and dedication.
Unbeknownst to her, her mother and sister had stumbled upon her secret.
"Gentle Fist Technique: Eight Trigrams Sixty-Four Palms."
With fluid and electric grace, Hinata moved, palms striking at rapid speed within the invisible field of the Eight Trigrams, each blow hammering the wooden posts with relentless intensity.
Thud… Thud…
Finishing a set, she paused, panting lightly, but showed no intention of stopping.
Raising her hands, a visible aura of chakra enveloped her palms, gradually condensing into the shape of two lion heads, faintly crackling with electric sparks.
"Gentle Step Twin Lion Fists."
---
"Hinata's really putting in the effort," a voice remarked from a distance.
Watching quietly, Kiyoshi had come to chat with Hinata, only to find her hard at work in her training.
Both surprised and pleased, his eyes shone with approval. Although she hadn't mastered the Palm Rotation technique yet, her progress was evident.
Half an hour later, having washed away the fatigue of her training, Hinata sat down to chat with her mother Ayako and her sister Hanabi before retreating to her room, ready for a bit of rest.
But her eyes widened in surprise upon seeing someone there.
"Kiyoshi-ni..."
Rubbing her eyes repeatedly, she finally confirmed that the person before her was indeed the one she'd been longing to see. Instantly, she was filled with joy.
"I came to check on you," Kiyoshi said with a gentle smile, placing a comforting hand on her head.
A soothing green light radiated from his palm, easing the weariness of her body and mind caused by her intense training.
"When did you return?" Hinata asked with a shy smile. She felt a little flustered, but she couldn't hide her delight at Kiyoshi's closeness.
"Not too long ago," Kiyoshi replied with a smile.
Taking a seat on the tatami mat, he gently held Hinata, resting his chin near her ear. In a soft whisper, he asked, "Did you miss me?"
"Uh-huh…."
His affectionate gesture left Hinata momentarily stunned, her cheeks flushing a brilliant red. Her heart raced wildly, and it felt as though her face might catch fire.
"Kiyoshi-ni…." she murmured, her voice almost too soft to hear.
"Does it bother you that I'm this close?" he asked, beginning to pull back.
"No, it's not that…." Hinata stammered, shaking her head quickly. "It's just..."
Lowering her head, she found herself unable to put her feelings into words.
She vaguely remembered overhearing family members say that if a girl was held by a boy, it might lead to…. having children?
"Alright, I won't tease you," Kiyoshi chuckled, touching her blushing cheek. "Tonight, I will give you company, if that's okay?"
"Huh? But… um…." Hinata's face turned as red as an apple, her heart pounding with both excitement and panic.
This was the Hyuga Clan's home, after all. Even though her family had installed special techniques to prevent Byakugan surveillance, she worried about being discovered.
"No need to worry," Kiyoshi reassured her with a smile, "The Byakugan of the Hyuga Clan won't notice me."
"Really?" Hinata's eyes widened in surprise.
The Byakugan's insight was reputedly superior even to the Sharingan, able to penetrate obstacles and detect targets up to several kilometers away.
Concealment techniques and sensory-blocking jutsus were useless before the Byakugan's gaze. And yet, Kiyoshi could bypass that?
"Otherwise, how could I appear here in the bedroom of the Hyuga Clan's eldest daughter?" he laughed, playfully pinching her cheek.
"Don't worry, I'm just here to talk. It's been too long, and I missed you."
Free to tease her while sharing her company, Kiyoshi found this bashful and adorable side of Hinata all too amusing.
"Mm.'..." Hinata bowed her head, her cheeks turning a shade that could nearly bleed red.
Kiyoshi's words echoed in her mind.
Once, her excessive shyness would've likely caused her to faint outright.
But thanks to Kiyoshi's gentle guidance, she was beginning to handle these affectionate moments better.
"Kiyoshi-ni…." she murmured, her fingers nervously fiddling with the hem of her shirt, both embarrassed and overjoyed at Kiyoshi's words. Kiyoshi misses me….
Surely, if he didn't care, he would've gone to visit Ino or the others instead of coming to her, right?
