He came.

The moment the door opened, nine people looked to one side simultaneously, and a second later, Bruce appeared before everyone's eyes. He walked slowly alongside Liam. He was tall and well-built, dressed in simple short sleeves. Just like the speech he gave last night on the podium, he exuded youthful spirit.

Seeing this, Bin smiled widely, as if he recognized him. Normal took the initiative to approach him, looked Bruce straight in the eyes, and said, "Bruce, I want to challenge you."

The school team room fell silent for a moment. The eyes of the other eight people settled on the two of them, and even the older members of the school team cast curious glances.

Bruce's expression remained unchanged; he seemed to see the burning fighting spirit in Bin's eyes and replied directly, "When?"

"Right now," Bin answered with an impatient look.

"No problem."

"There's a battlefield next door," said Liam from the side. The sudden battle had taken them by surprise, but it came at the right time. Whether a new or old member, everyone needed to witness Bruce's strength with their own eyes.

Similarly, Bruce wouldn't reject the experience points brought to his doorstep. Soon, under Liam's guidance, the large crowd moved toward the adjacent battlefield.

"This arena is reserved for school team members and can be used to settle conflicts," Jessica explained, pointing to the field in front of her.

"Settle conflicts?" Bruce was a little puzzled.

Jessica smiled and explained, "It's inevitable for members to have disagreements, and at such times, only Pokemon battles can resolve them."

Bruce nodded in understanding—this meant that if you couldn't convince someone with words, you used battles to prove your point.

Pokemon battles constantly happen in every corner of the world. They are deeply ingrained in every aspect of everyone's lives, and Pokemon play the most crucial role in them. This is the Pokemon world.

Before long, Bruce and Bin stood on opposite sides of the battlefield, looking at each other from a distance, ready to start.

"I'll act as the temporary referee for this match," said Liam as he walked to the center of the field and announced loudly.

In the bleachers on both sides, over a dozen people had already taken their seats, including new members who had just joined the school team by invitation, as well as older members discussing among themselves.

Oliver watched intently, his eyes unblinking and his face full of anticipation. Azalea Pércovich's eyes were cold as she sat alone in a corner; her beautiful black eyes scanned back and forth between the two on the battlefield, finally resting on Bruce.

"Please send out your Pokemon!" Liam raised the flag and called out.

At his command, the two trainers exchanged looks, and at the same time raised their hands, releasing their respective Poke Balls.

"Go, Gabite!"

"Let's go, Metang!"

As two beams of red light shot out, two figures appeared on the battlefield.

"Metang!"

Metang's entire body was silver, and under the spotlights, it glistened with a dazzling luster, its scarlet eyes staring across the field. Choosing Metang was a calculated decision on Bruce's part. Combusken's strength was clearly outpacing his other Pokemon, making it overpowered for this battle. With so many spectators, all future school team members, Bruce wanted to avoid embarrassing Bin too much. Plus, Combusken now gained minimal experience from fighting seasoned Pokemon.

"A differently colored Metang!"

For a moment, there was a lot of noise in the bleachers. Many people stared with wide eyes, leaning forward to get a closer look at the true appearance of the rare-colored Metang. Metang, as a pseudo-legendary Pokemon, was already rare, and the value of one with a unique color was several times higher and couldn't be obtained with financial resources alone. It was a symbol of status.

Many began to understand more about Bruce Bayne's background. Oliver's expression was relatively calm. He had long known Bruce's identity; as the young heir of an elite family, it was only natural for him to own a different-colored Metang.

Meanwhile, Jessica and Liam also had calm faces. Three days earlier, during field training, young Bayne had sent out this Metang. By contrast, a strange glint flashed in Azalea's eyes, and she seemed slightly surprised.

On the other side,

"Roar!"

Gabite let out a wild roar. Resembling a shark in appearance, its entire body was dark blue, with two protrusions on its head. Compared to Gible, which has a cute appearance, and Garchomp, which is handsome and fierce, Gabite was at an awkward stage with no distinct features. Among pseudo-legendary Pokemon, only a few second-stage forms had impressive appearances, while the others did not look particularly striking.

A champion-ranked Gabite!

Bruce was a bit distracted. Besides William's Alakazam, this was also the first champion-ranked Pokemon he had seen with his own eyes. It was a surprise to see it again, as William's Alakazam, typically stationed at the gym, had only appeared once while Bruce was honing his Psychic abilities. Of course, John Bayne must have more than one champion-ranked Pokemon.

Lately, Bruce increasingly felt that a Pokemon's ranking wasn't the most critical factor in its growth. It was about nurturing and reasonable training. Take William's Alakazam, for example. Despite being champion-ranked, it was still stuck at the top of gym-level strength, uncertain of when it would reach master level.

For some, obtaining a champion Pokemon wasn't especially difficult, but it was a significant challenge for a breeder to develop one into a true champion. Avalon had only one champion trainer, which spoke volumes. Clearly, Dragneel's family background was not simple.

Bruce's thoughts passed quickly, and he focused back on the battle.

"The battle begins!" Liam quickly waved the flag, officially starting the match.

The two trainers' commands rang out at the same time.

"Scary Face!"

"Electromagnetic Levitation!"

At Bruce's command, Metang became engulfed in a faint electric glow, hovering above the ground. In response, Gabite stomped, the ground shaking slightly as it attempted to intimidate Metang. However, the levitation rendered Gabite's ground-type moves ineffective, and the attack caused minimal impact.

"Great command," Liam thought to himself, secretly admiring Bruce's choice.

Those in the bleachers folded their arms and nodded in agreement. "Smart move. Even if you resist the damage of the first move, using Electromagnetic Levitation is a very correct choice."

"Gabite, Crunch!" Bin called out. Gabite roared, charging forward with menacing speed, preparing to sink its fangs into Metang.

"Psyshock," Bruce commanded with calm confidence. Metang's eyes glowed blue as it unleashed a powerful wave of psychic energy that struck Gabite, throwing it off balance and inflicting heavy damage.

"Bullet Punch!" Bruce followed up. Metang struck swiftly, landing several hits on Gabite.

"Dragon Breath!" Bin ordered as Gabite struggled to recover. Bruce countered with "Metal Claw!" Metang slashed, leaving a deep gash on Gabite's abdomen, drawing blood. Gabite staggered before collapsing, unable to continue.

Liam raised the flag and declared, "Gabite is unable to fight. The winner is Bruce Bayne!"

In an instant, warm cheers and applause erupted from both sides of the stands. Bin looked at his defeated Gabite, then back at Bruce, and smiled, full of newfound determination.

Through this battle, Bin had learned two things: that Bruce could defeat him even without his strongest Pokemon and that there was a clear gap in their command skills.

"Let's aim for him in the future," he whispered to himself, holding Gabite's Poke Ball with a new resolve.

Through this battle, he understood two things.

First, even if Bruce doesn't send his strongest Pokemon, he can still beat himself.

In addition, Gabite still has the attribute advantage against Metang.

Second, there is an obvious gap between Bruce and me in terms of command level, whether it is the judgment of the situation or the command decision.

I was convinced that I had lost.

This will be

It is the strength of first place in military field training, and this is Bruce who broke the guy's dusty record.

As his thoughts surged, Bruce walked up to Bin, nodded and said with a smile, "Your strength is very good and I look forward to the next battle with you.

Bin half-opened the corner of his mouth, his eyes were full of fighting spirit and he said loudly, "In the next battle, I will not be defeated so easily."

At that moment, Liam walked over and clapped his hands, "That was a wonderful battle."

Then he sighed again, "Your behavior is even better than the previous seniors.

During the speech, everyone in the stands came to the battlefield and looked at Liam together.

Liam looked at Bruce first, and then looked at the other nine freshmen one by one, and said loudly, "You are the ten most powerful among the freshmen in this class, you have already used seven days proved your worth."

"I'm sure you've heard about our school team. I don't want to tell you more about the rest. I just want to tell you one thing."

Liam's gaze was like a torch and he said loudly, "That's the Freshman Exchange Competition!"

"The Freshman Exchange Competition, as the name suggests, is a competition that freshmen participate in every year."

"Only the most powerful and mighty freshmen are eligible to participate."

"The freshman exchange competition is a competition that the school participates in as a unit, which is divided into team competition and individual competition."

"The specific competition system and process will be explained to you later, and now I just want to tell you the importance of the freshman exchange competition."

"The freshmen exchange competition has attracted the attention of college students from all over the country, all universities will participate, and each competition is very important.

"In the freshman exchange competition, you are not only representing yourself, you are representing the individual, you are representing our school and you are representing the thousands of Metropolis University students behind you."

"You are their face and their pride!"

Liam's impassioned voice echoed across the sky, the huge battlefield.

"Therefore, during the first month, you don't need to participate in other messy activities, you just need to improve your strength with all your might."

"A month later, the school team will select the players and the teacher will personally lead the training.

"That's all for today, I wish you all good luck."

After saying these words, Liam clapped his hands, "Since we arrived at the battlefield, there's a lot of space inside and we can conduct multiple battles at the same time.

"It's not as good as this. The other freshmen also play each other. It's a way to get to know the future team members beforehand."

As soon as this comment came out, all the other freshmen became interested and looked left and right to choose the right opponent.

No wrestling student would turn down a Pokemon battle.

At that moment, a senior member suddenly appeared and stood in front of Bruce, "Bruce, are you interested in having a battle with me?"

He smiled, showing his prominent white teeth.

Jessica rolled her eyes at him from the side and immediately introduced Bruce: "This boy is in my class, his name is Ilia Topuria, a famous wrestler in our school's team, he belongs to the kind of boy who plays on the street.

The world will raise strangers high for battle."

This is really a battle madness!

Topuria didn't get upset when she heard Jessica introduce herself like this, instead she added, "Hey, the main thing is that I just saw your hands itch."

"You can turn it down," Jessica reminded quietly.

Liam smiled slightly and said, "Let me tell you first, his trump card Pokemon is a Professional's Monferno, maybe this is the main reason why Topuria challenged you.

"The captain still understands me," Topuria said, and hearing this, he gave a thumbs up.

"So that's how it is..." Bruce nodded suddenly.

Infernape and Combusken's attributes are exactly the same, and they are very suitable for Pokemon to learn from each other.

"No problem."

After thinking about it for a moment, Bruce nodded his head.

"Good!" Topuria clapped her hands, full of joy.

Soon, the two stood on either side of the battlefield and looked at each other from a distance. Liam was still acting as temporary referee.

When the rest saw that Bruce was going to fight the sophomores, they all decided not to fight for the time being and still sat in the stands to watch the fight.

At the very least, they would rather see Bruce send out his own trump card Pokemon.

Look at that Pokemon from Professional that is invincible in field training.

"Please send us your own Pokemon," Liam said loudly.

The voice lowered and they both threw Poke Balls at the same time.

"Go, Combusken!"

"It's up to you, Monferno!"

A white light blossomed and two figures appeared on the field at the same time.

Combusken's eyes were sharp and he threw Claw Kai.

Monferno is orange all over, with a blue face-like pattern on the face, a circle of white fur around the neck, a swirling pattern on the abdomen and a fiery flame on the tip of the tail.
