Chapter 3

Chapter 3

Naya's point of view

I spend the rest of yesterday in my room. Mulling over my encounter with the Alpha King, and unable to shake down what went down between us.

The scene effortlessly replayed in my head, how he came into my room, used weird powers on me and thought he wiped my memory.

I deduced he was looking for something, on my body or something. Perhaps a mark, or a mysterious tick.

My scar!

My mysterious scar!

Was that what he was looking for? I doubt though, because the scar was visible and large marred right on my shoulder, and he looked everywhere without seeing anything like it.

Unless he just couldn't, maybe the scar faded out for his sight.

Today was here, and the preparation for the wedding was ongoing. My maids were with me trying to fit me into some luxurious gown perfect for the occasion. This is so ridiculous, but here I am still.

"Wouldn't the Alpha invite his sons, they should at least be here to know who killed their mother to marry their father." One of the maid working with me voiced out audibly, knowing damn well I could hear her but still wanted to gossip.

"I'd appreciate you not talking about my mother in my presence, please," I quested in a calm manner, glancing through their gazes full of disdain.

"What will you do if we don't?" The one working on my hair questioned, her grip on my scalp tightened.

"Have your mommy stopped her wedding with the king?"

"Or marry her to one of the princes?"

They laughed out boisterously, making derisive comments about what I specifically told them not to do.

"Speaking of the princes, they're indeed going to be here. I overheard the beta telling the king he already invited them, and that they're done even with their studies. They're coming home!!!!" The one below me, filing my nails screeched out loud in excitement, as though one of the prince is her mate or boyfriend.

"Really! You mean I'm going to see my favorite, Cadriel?"

The one above me, working on my hair pulled away. I could see her through the mirror, and she was gushing over the news with her palm placed over her chest.

"What do you mean your favorite, Cadriel is mine!" The other working on my toe nails stood up instantly, ticked by what the other maid had said.

"Yours how? Are you dreaming or just drunk-talking, Cadriel is my man, he is in love with me not you. Crazy of you to think he's in anything with you."

I could smell the drama heating up. The girl working on my facials, applying makeup and stuffs on my face was also getting invested in the shitty fight. She was the one who told me her name yesterday, Aliya or whatever.

"What do you mean by that, take that back before I make you regret saying that rubbish. How dare you speak about me in such manner." She took approaching steps toward her, obviously ready to throw her fists.

"The two dumb bitches doesn't know Cadriel is an all woman's thing. He's literally fucked if not all, but most of the girls inside this palace. Including me, I'm just not dumb enough to think we're something because we fucked. I fucked him because he was so damn good looking, they all were, but he was the only one available to lend," the Aliya girl leaned down to whisper in my ears, literally catching me up on the drama's genesis. And I pondered for a little while what got into her interacting with me.

"You think he's in love with you or nurse the littlest feelings about you? To him, he told me, he said you're nothing but a worthless maid to him, he doesn't even care about you. He bought me flowers, said he was going to take me on a date to the city's streets to explore lifestyle out there. Yes he bought me bracelets, bought me chains. Don't be stupid to think he's in love with you, or anything. He is my man, I own him, the rest of you peasants can suck it up and accept that fact. I'm done preparing this useless clown for a stupid wedding." She rolled her eyes after bashing the maid with her words, dumping the hairbrush she held on my laps and sauntered out of the room.

Phew. Yeah I could use her absence.

The maid that almost fought with her went silence after her departure, definitely folded by the maid's harsh words on her reality.

"Oh Freya, don't be sad. You guys are fool to think he's in love with any of you, including the one who walked out of here thinking Cadriel loves her because he gifts her flowers, bracelets and chains," she got cut off by her own laughter, everything seeming quite ridiculous to her. "When he's done fucking you, he usually gives a gift. I mean he gave me a pendant after our sex, and I'm sure he gave you something to. Y'all are just fools falling for him. Sorry darling, Anna can be a real b*tch sometimes, finish up with the nails. Party is about to start," she rounded her articulation, as she pointed back to what she was doing.

"If maids truly has a chance with one of those princes like in fairytales, I want a chance with Azriel. He's the absolute man of my dreams, with his sleek hair and well built physique, gosh I could die for him."

I had no idea who she was talking about. But I do know the King has three sons, they're triplets and usually are at the city.

And now they're coming home for their father's wedding to my mom. We're going to be step-siblings.

I know now that two of them goes by the name, Azriel and Cadriel. Still a mystery for the third.

They went back to working on me, and in no time they were done dolling me up.

"Find your way out to the hall, I'm in no mood to play escort," the Aliya girl declared, packing up the stuffs used on me. "But you're beautiful, damn if only your mother wasn't a b*tch." She threw another comment, glancing all over me.

"Bye!" She turned around, leaving me to my solitude, as the second maid solemnly followed suit.

I stood up from where I sat, wanting to look at myself in the mirror and see the outcome of all that was done to make me look more beautiful.

"What in the Blue Moon?!" I mouthed, upon seeing I had no reflection.

I'm not seeing myself inside this glass!

How is that possible?
