A gaunt yet powerful hand reached into the cage, grasping Chen Shi by the neck and yanked him out.
Chen Shi, transformed into a big white goose, did not struggle as the hand lifted him up. The hand's owner was none other than Elder Er, with his white beard and white hair, his face full of wrinkles. He eyed Chen Shi and chuckled, "A nice, fat goose. Don't blame me, why would the master and his wife prefer this one?"
He stuffed Chen Shi into a goose cage, then hoisted it onto a bamboo pole, and hung the cage from a tree in the backyard.
The goose cage was made of bamboo strips, woven together with rather large gaps, just enough for a goose's head to poke through, but not its body.
Before long, eighteen cages hung from that tree, resembling huge round lanterns, with the white geese anxiously pacing inside.
To others, these geese were merely cackling non-stop; but to Chen Shi and the other transformed students inside the cages, they were crying for help!
