CCLIV. Manor Feast

The carriage designated to welcome Brenda slowly stopped by the roadside, the horse shook its head and snorted.

Doringger was fastidious, and although the coachman was not exactly handsome, he certainly met the criteria of having a well-proportioned face and a presentable demeanor.

Seeing six people following her, he realized she had quite a large retinue; usually, three or four attendants were common, making it hard not to be suspicious.

"Madam… Who might these be?"

He was somewhat puzzled.

"Oh, Reggae Defense is taking this meeting very seriously. Apart from two bodyguards, the other four are all management personnel from the company."

Brenda forced a smile. With this sort of incident, as a major shareholder, she wouldn't be ousted, but she would be demoted to a non-decision-making role, merely sharing in the profits.

The coachman didn't think too much about it. Reggae Defense was indeed a significant corporation. He respectfully invited everyone to board the carriage.
