Chapter 400: The War Begins

Outside Chang'an City.

On the official road, a swift horse galloped forward, kicking up a cloud of dust.

As it approached the city gate, the knight on the horse showed no intention of slowing down. The soldier guarding the gate shouted angrily, ready to stop him. However, catching a glimpse of the large "urgent" character on the knight's chest, he shivered involuntarily and immediately ordered, "Move aside, move aside, all of you... "

At the same time, he unhesitatingly turned and ran into the city, ordering the temporarily stationed carriages and horses inside the gate to give way immediately.

A splendid horse dashed down the main street of Chang'an City. Following renovations, Chang'an's main roads had long separated pedestrian from vehicular traffic, preventing collisions with the public entirely.

Even so, the new traffic laws strictly limited the speed of riding or driving in the city, and the speed of that horse had far exceeded the prescribed limit.
