Chapter 19:
" Incoming transmission... " The sound of static voice rang out, as Sado sat in his pod traveling through the emptiness of space.
" Scheduled to land in exactly three minutes, rapidly approaching Planet Vegeta's atmosphere. Landing at hub...Three. "
Sado's eyes slowly opened as the pod tore through the atmosphere, engulfed in flames, before entering Planet Vegeta's sky and hurling towards a crowd of Saiyan pods, crashing into black asphalt. The door latched open, gingerly opening, releasing a wave of steam.
Before a hand shot out, grabbed onto the pod's door, and jumped out of the pod. Sado glanced around. Looking at empty pods, until he sighed and his aura sparked, flying into the air.
" Leeks. Where the hell are you? " Sado stood motionless, his eye scanning the planet before his eyes shifted to a compact village. " He was talking about this village last time. He's probably here. "
In a flash, Sado flew towards the lively village, landing on top of a mud roof before leaping down onto the packed alleyways. The alleyways are lined with various shops, selling food, fabric, and jewelry.
Sado walked through the crowd, his eyes scanning around. He saw something: a small boy tightly wrapped around a leather ball staring up into space. The child's clothes were torn with barely any fabric left.
" How foolish staring into space won't get you anywhere-
" Beroit. What are you doing here? " A loving voice sliced Sado's mumbling, making him pause briefly in the buzzing crowd, watching as a woman grabbed onto the boy, hugging him.
Lifting him into the air with a bright smile on her face. It didn't make sense to Sado.
Why would she waste time caring for something that has already given up? Sado didn't watch for long, being shoved forward by the moving crowd. Looking forward, until finally, through the compact crowd, a familiar face came into view.
Leeks could be seen leaning against a mud wall with his arms crossed, watching each saiyan walk past until his eyes locked with Sado's, and a shocked look appeared on his face.
" You're back already? It's only been four weeks? " Sado walked closer to Leeks, standing next to him, before responding.
" The population of the Planet was low already. "
" Still. I expected at least a month before you came back. But I guess I was the one training you. " Said Leeks with a grin on his face. Sado ignored this grin, glancing down at his palm covered in healed scars...
" Hey. You did kill them all, right? " Asked Leeks.
"...Yeah. "
Leek's head tilted slightly. " You hesitated? "
" I didn't. They're dead. "
An awkward silence engulfed the two, while they watched the buzzing crowd until Leeks cut in, breaking the awkwardness. " Did you hear about the prince being born? "
" The message through my pod. It interrupted my train of thought while I was trying to find the last remaining inhabitants of the planet. " Sado exhaled loudly, still speaking. " It was a waste of time, announcing that. "
As soon as Sado said this, Leek's eyes shot open, before he put a finger against his lips, speaking. " Shush. You can't say that out loud. The King will kill you. "
"...Is the king strong? " Asked Sado.
" Sure. Not the strongest but-
" Then his offspring don't matter. If he were the strongest saiyan, maybe I could understand. " Said Sado, cutting off Leeks.
Leek's eyes grew irritated. " What's wrong with you? I've told you that strength alone isn't the only way to acquire power. You're lucky we're in the lower districts; no one here gives a rat ass about the King either. " Leeks uncrossed his arms, pushing off the wall behind him.
"Survival is the most important thing. If you were to say that at the royal palace. You'll be dead before I can say a word. You've changed slightly. I've watched you grow ever since you were in that void-
As soon as Leek mentioned the void, Sado snapped his head up, glaring at him. " I almost forgot...What's up with the void anyway? Why did you throw me down there...You said you were going to answer it. When I got back, right? Or did I come back too soon?"...
