Dungeon 3

Chapter 44

Daelan POV

Funny how they're scared now. Thought they were big shots, huh?

I glance down at them, a pathetic heap of trembling cowards who had spent years leeching off Morne. Now, stripped of their power, they can barely lift their heads. I check my wristwatch out of habit. Stopped working again.

I sigh. Right, outside gadgets don't work in dungeons unless they're specially crafted.

I make a mental note to get one. A custom piece, something that won't fail me.

"You won't get away with this!" one of the men screams.

I tilt my head and look down at him. Disgusting. Weak.

"Pretty sure there was a warning to hand in your resignation letters." I say, keeping my hands in my pockets. My voice is light, conversational.

One of them opens his mouth to sputter out an excuse.

"Yeah, yeah, I don't care." I cut in before he can waste my time.
