Back to you

Chapter 65 (Daelan POV)

The corridor is dim, lit only by the soft glow of wall sconces and the pale, silver light filtering in through tall windows. My footsteps echo across polished marble floors, the sound crisp and rhythmic, like a countdown.

Each step forward feels unreal—disconnected from time. Like I've walked this path before in another life.

A memory.

A dream.

Déjà vu curls around me like smoke.

The last time I felt this… I was standing in this very hall, drawn forward by the same gravity pulling at my chest now. That same ache in my bones, the same hollow tension in my chest that told me—she's here.

And then, I see her.

The grand chandelier overhead spills fractured light across the hall like falling stars, but she outshines all of it.
