Rylan was in a daze. He sat in Wade's car, wondering why he let himself get pulled into it. His confusion eventually turned into annoyance and finally realization.
Wade said he was taking him to a date, DATE! Rylan looked at the person next to him with a slight frown.
"Where are we going?" He asked.
"I told you, didn't you hear what I said?"
"Stop the car, I want to get off," Rylan ordered but still in a soft voice. Unfortunately for him, the car didn't stop. Actually, the speed increased instead. "There's an accurate definition for what you're doing right now, kidnapping. Do you know how bad it is to kidnap an omega? You can get several years in prison."
"Call the authorities then. I'm the future alpha anyway, nothing will happen to me," Wade grinned. Rylan simply wanted to take his head and kick it like a ball. Don't ask him why, he just wanted to do it.
"Shameless!"
"We're here," Wade announced, completely ignoring the name he was called. Rylan didn't care, he looked out the window and realized they were in True bar.
"This is what you call a date?" Rylan sighed, he had feared they would go to some fancy restaurant. Maybe this alpha would have gone as far as taking him to an amusement park! However, they were at a bar!
Wade led him inside and they sat at their usual spot. Yes, it was now their spot.
"This is our third date," Wade looked around and spoke with his usual smile. His words made the cute innocent omega frown. Third date? What did he mean? Who goes to a bar for a date. As far as he knew, he had never gone on any date.
Rylan kept his thoughts to himself. He knew if he spoke, the crazy alpha would say something cheesy and he was too tired to hear that.
Wade had gone for their drinks but Rylan wasn't drinking. He was afraid his aunt would do something crazy again. Moreover, he wouldn't get drunk and it could raise suspicions.
Wade didn't know all these hence he thought Rylan was uncomfortable around him.
"Do you hate me that much?" Wade still smiled but it was not as bright as usual.
They stared at each other for a while, each seemed to be searching for something from the other. Rylan finally had the chance to analyze the other person's eyes.
Wade's eyes were always bright, as if he was happy, but that was a disguise. If one looked carefully, they could see the sadness that struggled to get out. So many emotions were hidden by that brightness and at that moment, Rylan saw it.
People show fake emotions with their eyes. However, they inner part of your eyes held everything. People just built a barrier to hide it. Rylan knew this and thus he had a habit of reading one carefully by looking deep into their eyes.
"I don't hate you," Rylan spoke after what felt like a lifetime. Wade waited for him to continue but it seemed that was all. He pursed his lips and couldn't help but smile wider. Yes, he accepted he was crazy, a small sentence made him happy. No explanation, no emotion, just a plain indifferent sentence.
"I don't hate you too."
Rylan gaped at those words. What were they doing? Confessing?
In the end, they left the bar since Rylan didn't drink anything. Wade dragged him into his car again and drove off. Seriously, he felt his head throb.
"Now where are we going?" He asked, clearly irritated.
"You didn't want to drink, so I'm taking you to eat," Wade claimed innocently. Why was he speaking so innocently? That wasn't his role!
Actually, the reason Wade had taken him to a bar the first time was because he didn't want him to feel uncomfortable. They were more or less strangers so he decided to go to a romantic yet unromantic place. It's not his fault they first met at a bar.
Now that he saw Rylan didn't want to drink he decided they should go to a restaurant. Yap, Rylan found himself in what he called an unnecessarily fancy restaurant. He cursed his thoughts for jinxing himself.
"Come," Wade offered a hand making the other frown. They came in the same car to a fancy restaurant and now he was being offered a hand. He finally had proof that realization hits hard! What else could this be but a date?
"We can eat somewhere else," Rylan did not want to waste his first date. And no, the times they were at the bar did not count!
"Why?"
"This is a place for humans, it's not safe to mingle with them," he gave the perfect excuse.
"Oh please, you mingle with them everyday. You even have a friend here," Wade held his hand and pulled him inside.
Inwardly, Rylan repeated that the only reason he was following was because he was supposed to be an omega. What if he used his lynx strength and scared the other? No, that's not right. What he meant was, what if he used his lynx strength and ratted himself out? Yeah, that's right.
While Rylan's mind was a mess, Wade had pulled him to a table near a window. He sat in a daze. For some odd reason, he had quite a lot of thoughts these days. He felt like he could last a week not bored in his thoughts. It was weird, he felt alive.
"Hey," Wade called, snapping Rylan out of his thoughts.
"Huh?"
"What do you want to eat?"
"Whatever you're eating," Rylan answered without thinking. He only realized what he said when the waiter was gone. Argh, he was actually a picky eater and be had no idea what Wade had ordered. He blamed his thoughts. Yap, these sudden random thoughts were the roots of his problem.
Normally, his mind was silent, but now it was louder than True bar. What was wrong with him?
Soon, the food was brought. Lucky for Rylan, it was something he could eat.
He ate silently, listening to his sudden loud thoughts.
