Chapter 247: A Final Warning

Chapter 247: A Final Warning

Within the great hall, a fierce wind arose, whipping through Lin Langtian's robes, which fluttered wildly. Cloaked in an immense cloud of dark mist, he appeared like an evil deity descending upon the world.

"This energy… it's the power of the Abyssal Demon…" murmured the Demon Elder, surprised at the sudden surge in Lin Langtian's strength. He hadn't anticipated that Lin Langtian would actually master the Abyssal Demon's legacy and successfully form a Demonic Seed.

As the Elder observed Lin Langtian, his gaze sharpened, and faint black energy rose from his own form. "It truly has the aura of an Abyssal Demon, but… it seems to carry something more," he noted with a frown. Compared to the overwhelming evil energy within the Demon Elder, the dark mist surrounding Lin Langtian seemed less malevolent, bearing instead a noble, mysterious quality.

Lin Langtian focused, feeling the newfound power of the Demonic Seed coursing through him. This 'Demonic Seed' reminded him somewhat of the Fire Seed he had created by merging with the Nine Nether Flame. Both involved infusing his spiritual energy with a distinct power, creating a force uniquely his own. He could sense that, with the Demonic Seed activated, his combat strength had increased drastically—enough to present a serious challenge even to high-level Nirvana Realm fighters.

However, he soon realized that his Demonic Seed and Fire Seed couldn't coexist; he couldn't use both his Nine Nether energy and his Abyssal energy simultaneously. Attempting to do so would result in a chaotic conflict within his own energy field, undermining his focus and control.

"If only I could fuse the Fire Seed and the Demonic Seed…" Lin Langtian mused. Both energies were of the highest caliber on the Tianxuan Continent. Combining them would be more than a simple addition of strengths; it would create something altogether transformative, enough to propel him into legendary status across the land.

Yet he knew this goal was far out of reach. Even merging the Abyssal power into his own spirit had been challenging. To merge two such potent forces would be even more difficult and could easily result in serious injury if he failed. For now, it was too risky.

Lin Langtian ultimately decided to use the Demonic Seed as a hidden trump card. As he thought about it, he recalled that the black-gold light from his Golden Spirit Wheel Mirror had fused with the seed at the moment of formation, transforming it. The resulting black-gold Demonic Seed felt different—more potent, even surpassing his Nine Nether energy. He guessed that once the Demonic Seed was activated, he could likely battle two levels above his current Nirvana strength, allowing him to match fighters at the Six-Star level. And with the help of his Wood Emperor Triple Path technique, he might even have a chance against a Seven-Star opponent.

This realization marked a tremendous leap in power for Lin Langtian, and with his Demonic Seed in place, he could now practice safely within the mirror's inner world, further refining his control over Abyssal energies.

"Heh, to have successfully formed a Demonic Seed… it seems your talent and fortune are both remarkable," said the Demon Elder, watching Lin Langtian with a hint of admiration.

"Thank you, Elder," Lin Langtian replied, giving a respectful bow. He understood the immense value of what the Elder had gifted him.

"If you've come this far, it must be due to destiny," the Elder replied, waving his hand dismissively with a sigh. "If you understand my heritage, then you know this power is Abyssal in origin. That ancient catastrophe… even now, the memory of it haunts me. It's a blessing to know that another powerful defender exists in the world."

Lin Langtian nodded solemnly and replied, "Elder, I assure you, with the strength of those who came before, we will never let this continent fall to the Abyssal Demons."

"I pray it is so. May there arise another figure like the Symbol Ancestor to protect this world," sighed the Demon Elder.

Lin Langtian raised his eyebrows in surprise, realizing that the Demon Elder had once known the Symbol Ancestor. Then, the Elder continued his story:

"Years ago, I engaged an Abyssal Demon King in battle. I survived, but my body retained fragments of Abyssal energy that slowly poisoned me. With great difficulty, I devised the method of forming the Demonic Seed to control the power, which ultimately allowed me to grow stronger. But the truth remains—Abyssal energy is not suited to humans. With time, it warps and changes you, and my own personality was affected. So I warn you, unless absolutely necessary, avoid relying too heavily on Abyssal power, lest it consume you."

"Consume… me?" Lin Langtian murmured in surprise.

"Yes," the Elder replied gravely. "Using this energy might transform you into a merciless, bloodthirsty being. You could even lose yourself entirely, becoming nothing more than a puppet of destruction."

Lin Langtian's heart grew cold as he recalled the Elder's strange and volatile temperament when they first met. The Elder's behavior had indeed been influenced by the dark energy he wielded. Despite the chill of this warning, Lin Langtian reminded himself that his own Demonic Seed was unique, marked by a noble black-gold energy. He didn't sense the same sinister pull as the Elder described, but he still offered a deep bow to show his gratitude for the warning.

"Thank you, Elder, for the reminder."

"No need. Knowing that someone has taken up my legacy, I have no regrets," the Demon Elder said, his form growing increasingly transparent. "Remember—never expose your Abyssal energy recklessly unless your strength is sufficient. Lest you draw the attention of certain… hidden Abyssal beings…"

As the Elder's form faded, his last solemn words echoed softly within the hall.
