Chapter 315: Seeking Justice
Lin Langtian sat cross-legged in front of the red stone tablet, his eyes closed, his energy gradually subsiding.
In the quiet, secluded depths of the Martial Arts Pavilion, time seemed to slow to a near standstill, with a gentle scent of sandalwood filling the air, creating a calm and relaxing atmosphere.
One month.
Lin Langtian had been meditating and training here for an entire month—a length of time he hadn't expected.
But, immersed in the beauty of studying this martial art, he had lost track of time completely.
Finally, at a certain moment, a surge of intense energy emanated from Lin Langtian. His eyes, closed for a month, opened slowly, revealing not fatigue but a newfound brightness.
"You're finally awake. It's been almost a month since you entered the Martial Arts Pavilion," came Aunt Ling's voice in Lin Langtian's mind.
"Oh, so it took a month to master The Emperor Flame Manual..." Lin Langtian murmured, slightly surprised.
Though he wasn't the most gifted of all, his talent was still remarkable; before now, he'd never taken so long to learn any martial art, whether Creation or Spirit Arts. But The Emperor Flame Manual was different.
"Yes, though it took time, mastering The Emperor Flame Manual is a great gain for you.
"Before, your fire-based attacks had decent power, but you mainly relied on the Vermillion Bird Flame, which was limited by your current strength. You couldn't unlock its true potential.
"But with The Emperor Flame Manual, you've acquired skills and techniques that amplify fire abilities, creating a powerful synergy with the Vermillion Bird Flame. Combined, the power is truly extraordinary.
"Yuan Gate's three supreme manuals are generally reserved for the three Headmasters and their personal disciples. But with The Emperor Flame Manual, your skill level is not far behind the Three Princes of Yuan Gate." Aunt Ling explained.
Hearing her words, Lin Langtian smiled and nodded.
The hard work of this past month had not been in vain, and the power of The Emperor Flame Manual did not disappoint him.
Mastering this skill, one that rivaled Yuan Gate's supreme manuals, Lin Langtian could sense that although his realm hadn't advanced, his combat strength had increased by at least thirty percent. If he were to face Zhang Hao now, he was confident he could win without both being left wounded.
With a slight smile, he stood up and stretched.
Hearing the crackling of his joints, Lin Langtian took one last glance at the red stone tablet, then turned to leave without a second thought.
Since he had mastered The Emperor Flame Manual, there was no reason to stay.
Tap, tap, tap!
The crisp sound of his footsteps echoed as he walked away. Just as he was about to disappear from sight, he paused, and his voice sounded in the empty air:
"Rest assured, Senior. I will not tarnish your legacy. The Emperor Flame Manual will surely become famous across the continent!"
…
Upon exiting the Martial Arts Pavilion, Lin Langtian wasted no time sightseeing; he headed straight back to his secluded mountain residence.
On the way, as the Fire Division's eighth chief disciple, many disciples greeted him respectfully, though their glances held an unspoken tension.
Lin Langtian sensed the change in their attitudes, frowning slightly. He decided to return home and ask Mo Tie and the others if anything unusual had happened in the Fire Division over the past month.
However, when he reached the entrance to his residence, he saw several familiar figures waiting.
"What are you doing here? And where's Mo Tie?" Lin Langtian asked.
These were some of his old followers from the Yan Alliance. But seeing the anxious expressions on their faces, with no sign of Mo Tie or the others, Lin Langtian felt an uneasy premonition.
Seeing Lin Langtian, the disciples visibly relaxed, quickly hurrying over. One of them, looking panicked, blurted out, "Brother, something terrible happened! Brother Mo Tie and the others are surrounded!"
"Surrounded? By whom?" Lin Langtian's expression darkened.
Yuan Gate was fiercely competitive, with disciples often ruthless in their actions. While Mo Tie and the others might be only surrounded now, if things went wrong, their lives could be in danger.
"It's the chief disciple Zhang Hao and his followers!"
"Zhang Hao?"
Hearing the name, Lin Langtian instantly understood. So, this was Zhang Hao's doing.
"Brother, ever since you were promoted to chief disciple, Zhang Hao has been upset, grumbling and looking for a chance to make trouble for you. But with you training in the Martial Arts Pavilion for the past month, he hadn't found an opportunity.
"Then, about two weeks ago, Zhang Hao found out that we were your old followers from the Yan Alliance, so he turned his attention on us.
"Zhang Hao is highly respected in the Fire Division, and not only did he manipulate the division's overseers to deny us cultivation resources, but his lackeys also used 'friendly sparring' as an excuse to beat us mercilessly.
"A few days ago, Brother Liu Yuan refused to yield and ended up with three broken ribs. He's still recovering in bed!"
"Liu Yuan was injured?" Lin Langtian's eyes narrowed, an icy glint flashing in them.
Liu Yuan had once led the Great Yan Dynasty and was one of Lin Langtian's first followers in the Yan Alliance. However, Liu Yuan's strength was only at the Five-Origin Nirvana Realm, which was impressive for a participant in the Hundred Dynasties Battle but insufficient to stand against older disciples of the Fire Division.
"Sigh… We're newcomers here with little influence. Zhang Hao's bullying has only grown worse over the past few days. Just now, one of Zhang Hao's men accused Brother Mo Tie of stealing his Fire Spirit Crystal, then detained him, surrounding him and forcing him to endure public humiliation while the other Fire Division disciples watched.
"Brother Zhang Hao and his men treat us like dirt, assaulting and humiliating us whenever they wish. Brother, we beg you to seek justice for us!"
By the end, the disciples' eyes were red, their voices trembling with anger and desperation as they pleaded with Lin Langtian.
For over two weeks, they had endured far too much. If not for their faith in Lin Langtian, their spirits would have been completely crushed.
Lin Langtian's expression remained calm, but his fists clenched tighter, a steely resolve growing in his gaze.
"Take me to Zhang Hao," he said coldly.
