ADRIANA'S POV
"That's not what you said, Salvatore. You said you'd give me the goddamn phone" I huffed in annoyance, my eyes wide as I stared at him.
It was barely morning, but after tossing and turning in bed, I resigned myself to the fact I wouldn't be able to sleep unless I wanted to subject myself to the nightmares that plagued me what felt like an eternity ago.
When I tried to recall my last nightmare, I realized that it had been a while and now, it was back as I left Italy… as I left Vincenzo. The person who was able to take away my nightmares even though he was the one who plagued them.
"I know what I said, Adriana." Salvatore's tired voice brought me out of my never-ending thoughts, and I refocused my eyes on him.
He had told me a few hours ago that I'd be given a burner phone to reach out to Vincenzo, but now he had simply confiscated my phone as planned but was saying he couldn't give me a burner phone.
