None of the people present had expected tonight's emotions to feel like a rollercoaster ride.
In just under a minute, they went from the elation of thinking Altair might never return again to the anxiety that not only could Altair come back, but she might even collaborate with Mio Takamiya.
Even if, due to the constraints of the world's rules, Mio Takamiya herself likely couldn't descend personally, she still had countless ways to influence this world.
If that really happened, they might as well give up and go to sleep.
However, with the situation still unclear, everyone still wanted to give it one more shot.
"But the problem is—what should we do?"
Amidst the tense atmosphere, Takashi Matsubara question left everyone stumped.
The Created Characters exchanged looks, but none of them could offer a solution.
After all, among them, only Altair Holopsicon held the ability to cross between worlds and pull virtual characters into other realms.
Now, with Altair for some unknown reason trapped in the world of Date A Live, even if they wanted to investigate what was going on, they were powerless to do anything.
"The method to cross worlds…"
Meteora fell into thought, and after a long pause, she finally said, "In my world, there exists a similar spatial magic. However, I've never tried it before. Constructing it from scratch would take a lot of time."
This was probably the only option they had.
Natsumi Kyouno also knew that Meteora had the ability to cross worlds, which was why she had previously suggested the possibility of Altair returning.
In the original work, it was also Meteora who constructed a gate to another world, allowing Created Characters who wanted to return to their original worlds to leave the real world.
"A lot of time?" Aki Kikuchihara asked for confirmation. "Can you give a rough estimate?"
"At the shortest, one month. At the longest, three months."
"Hm…"
Aki Kikuchihara fell into contemplation.
One to three months—if Altair and Mio Takamiya really decided to cooperate, that would be plenty of time for them to accomplish a lot.
By the time the so-called spatial magic was finally constructed, Altair might already be back.
Meteora clearly understood this as well, which was why she had waited so long before speaking up, confirming that no one had any other options before bringing up this so-called solution that didn't sound much like one.
"Right, I can have the Code Chronicle assist you."
Natsumi Kyouno suddenly spoke up, offering a suggestion: "If you run into any issues while constructing the spatial magic, I can directly ask the Code Chronicle. It should be able to provide the answers."
"If that's the case, the time required will be greatly reduced."
Meteora hadn't previously thought the Code Chronicle could be used like this, and her eyes lit up. "Actually, for unfamiliar magic, construction time isn't that long. What takes time is analyzing the structure of the spell itself. If the Code Chronicle really can provide answers, I could succeed in using spatial magic in less than a week."
Upon hearing this, everyone's expressions relaxed.
Compared to the daunting one to three months, a week was something they could definitely accept.
Immediately, Natsumi Kyouno began working with Meteora to test whether the Code Chronicle could truly answer questions about magic.
To their delight—it could.
However, just as the two were about to roll up their sleeves and dive into the work that very night, Masunohara Takashi seemed to recall something and cautiously asked, "Natsumi, can you use the Code Chronicle to ask if there's any method besides Meteora spatial magic for crossing between worlds?"
"Of course."
Although Natsumi Kyouno didn't believe there could be any other method besides Meteora, it didn't cost much time to write a line in the Code Chronicle.
With a few strokes of her pen, she wrote down the question on the search page, and the book's pages displayed an unexpected answer:
[Opening of the Gate Opener]
Seeing this surprising answer, Natsumi Kyouno couldn't help but pause.
Was it that it inherently had the ability to open gateways to other worlds? Or was it because of the unique worldview of Re:Creators that this power was possible?
The ability of [Open] was to unlock anything—whether object or concept—so directly opening a gate to the Date A Live world seemed plausible.
And what's more, it might be even more convenient and faster than Meteora spatial magic.
"The Code Chronicle says I can use the Gate Opener to open a doorway to another world."
When Natsumi Kyouno relayed this answer to everyone present, their expressions were almost identically conveying the same thought—
The Gate Opener… can be used like that?
While they had known that the Gate Opener could open space and even enable teleportation, no one had thought about using it to open a doorway to another world.
After all, in the original work, the Gate Opener had never been used in such a way.
"Hiss—wait, if the Gate Opener really can do something like that, doesn't that mean…"
Suddenly, Natsumi Kyouno seemed to connect the dots and muttered to herself, "Just like Altair, I can also summon more Created Characters from other worlds into the real world?"
At that moment—even though she hadn't yet assumed the role of Mukuro Hoshimiya—she already felt her control over the Gate Opener had reached a whole new level.
Since the Gate Opener could create passageways to other worlds, then she could totally pull others over like Altair did.
The more Created Characters there were in this world, the more chaotic the situation would become—and the more chaotic things got, the better it would be for completing the main mission.
Besides, the more allies she had, the easier it would be when it came time to fight the final boss!
"Let's start drafting a list of virtual characters who might help us defeat Altair."
Upon hearing Natsumi Kyouno words, the creators immediately perked up.
If she truly could summon more Created Characters, then despite the increased risk of interference—which might allow Altair to benefit—they could mitigate that risk by not summoning too many at once.
They could have Natsumi summon characters with Lawful Good, Lawful Neutral, or Neutral Good alignments to help them take down Altair.
Even Altair probably wouldn't expect that the Gate Opener could be used to open portals between worlds.
This could become their ultimate trump card to defeat her!
"All creators, start collecting lists of virtual characters who could become allies. Natsumi and I will go to the Date A Live world to investigate."
Meteora took a deep breath and declared.
"Then, let's all get to work."
