Chapter fifty Who is in Charge?

The tension hung in the air, the two women staring venomously at each other, the hatred evident in both eyes. The determination to get rid of the other not hidden either.

William gazed at Anna, his heart heavy with guilt. He was the reason for the hatred she harbored toward Vivianne, all because she believed Vivianne had played a role in his accident. The bitterness in her eyes was unbearable—he could not stand to see her consumed by such feelings toward anyone. It unsettled him deeply.

"Vivianne is not foolish enough to defy orders in a situation where her life is at stake," William intervened.

"I mean we all know that the situation is perilous," William said immediately changing his words and concealing his smile when she gave him one of those stares she was sharing with Anna.

"Everything will be fine if everyone plays their part, and Anna, I am not hiding away when Azurethra is in danger," he said directing his gaze to Anna.
