Chapter 4 Sculpture

Jack's mumbling echoed in the empty bedroom, and his eyes fell on the bust again. The black shadow in the sculpture remained motionless, as if imprisoned inside. Jack's heart was full of doubts. He didn't understand why such a thing happened, nor did he know what this sudden "system" was.

He reached out and gently touched the surface of the sculpture, feeling the cold texture. He knew that this was not just a work of art, it seemed to be a bridge connecting reality and supernatural phenomena.

Jack took a deep breath and tried to calm himself down. He needed more information and needed to understand this sudden change. His eyes fell on the three lines of text again:

Mental antibody: Antibody level 0 Physical strength: 37% of ordinary body Potential skills: None

This information seemed to point to the improvement of some ability or attribute, but Jack didn't know their specific meaning. He only knew that these changes were related to Allen in the sculpture.

He decided to check the sculpture again to see if he could find more clues. He carefully examined every corner of the sculpture and even tried to shake it gently, but Alan's shadow was still curled up quietly inside, without any response.

Jack returned to his workbench, opened his laptop, and began to search for any information about sculptures, paranormal phenomena, and mysterious systems. He hoped to find some explanations, some answers.

A few hours passed, and Jack's eyes scanned countless web pages and forum posts on the screen, but he didn't find any useful information. He felt a little frustrated, but he didn't give up. He knew that he had to persevere and find a solution to the problem.

Just then, his cell phone rang. It was Adam calling.

"Jack, I'm still in the hospital. The doctor said my dad is stable, but he doesn't seem to remember what happened recently." Adam's voice sounded tired and worried.

"Does he remember who he is?" Jack asked.

"Yes, but he has no memory of the past two weeks." Adam replied.

Jack was silent for a while, then said, "Adam, something strange happened here too. I may know why your father fainted, but I need more time to figure it out."

"What did you find?" Adam asked eagerly.

Jack briefly told Adam about the sculpture and Alan's shadow. Adam was silent for a while, then said, "Jack, I don't know what this means, but I think we should find an expert to help."

"I agree." Jack said, "but before that, we need to be vigilant. I don't know if the fake Alan will come back, or what his purpose is."

"I will." Adam said, "I will stay in the hospital for one night, and I will be back tomorrow morning. Let's figure it out together."

After hanging up the phone, Jack looked at the sculpture again. He knew that this was not just a work of art, it could be the key to solving the whole mystery.

He decided to sleep in the bedroom tonight and stay by the sculpture. He needed to ensure the safety of the sculpture, and he also needed to observe whether Alan's shadow would change.

It was late at night, Jack lay in bed, his eyes through the darkness, and fell on the sculpture. His heart was filled with uncertainty and worry, but he also knew that he had to face it all bravely.

He closed his eyes and tried to fall asleep. But his mind could not calm down, and he kept replaying everything that happened today in his mind. He knew that his life had been completely changed, and he had to find the answer and solve the mystery.

In this sleepless night, Jack's heart was full of determination. He knew that what he was about to face might be the biggest challenge of his life.
