Chapter 19 The Last Video

When Jack woke up, there was no one in the ward except himself. He didn't know when Ted left. But Jack didn't wake up naturally, but was awakened by a phone ring. He took the phone next to the pillow and saw that the caller ID was "Officer Mage calling."

 This Mage is the police officer in charge of the disappearance of Jack's fiancée Eva. He is affiliated with the Missing Persons Group of the Yungu City Public Security Bureau and serves as the deputy team leader. Because of Eva's disappearance, Jack's original body owner had harassed the officers of the missing persons unit. He knew almost every officer in the unit and even got along well with Mage and others.

 After receiving it, Jack found that the quality of this video was average, but it should still be the effect of technical processing and repair, otherwise the distant scene in the video would be very blurry. The video surveillance came from the diagonal back of the community where he was currently located, which should be a building. The diagonal place in the video, after counting up to the fourth floor, should be the bathroom window behind his rental house.

 The window was open at this moment, and it seemed that the season in the video was winter. Because a long-haired woman was standing in front of the bathroom window. This was Eva's blurry figure. Her lips were moving, as if she was talking to the air outside the window.  Not long after, Eva standing in front of the window shook her head obviously and said a few words. The situation became even weirder. She suddenly tilted her head slightly, as if she was looking at the direction of the surveillance video. The pretty face seemed to be looking at Jack who was watching the video through the surveillance camera. Seeing this scene, Jack's heart skipped a beat, and the phone in his hand suddenly began to vibrate, and the screen showed "Officer Mage is calling."

 After the call was connected, Mage's voice came out: "Have you watched the video?" Jack immediately replied: "I'm watching it. Eva's behavior is indeed very abnormal. How did she find the surveillance camera here?" "What did she find?" Mage asked. "Surveillance camera? I just saw her looking up at the surveillance camera in the video, as if she was looking at me..."

 Mage's voice became surprised, interrupting Jack and saying, "I don't know what you are talking about. I watched this video. Eva was talking to the air all the time. She didn't look anywhere else." Jack's heart skipped a beat and asked, "Are you sure she didn't look in the direction of the surveillance camera?" "I'm sure she didn't. She said a few words to the air outside the window and then closed the window, and then she never appeared again." Mage said firmly.

He immediately found that the bathroom window on the fourth floor in the video had been closed, and Eva's figure just now was not seen. He played the video from the beginning.

 This time, he only saw Eva saying a few words to the air and reaching out to close the window. Just as Mage said, she never appeared again. The scene of Eva looking up at him just now disappeared completely!

 Jack felt that the temperature around him seemed to be dropping, and his hands and feet became a little cold. He turned his head and looked around the ward. This was a separate ward for him. There were no other patients and the room was silent. He played the video twice from beginning to end, but he never saw Eva looking up at him again. Instead, she closed the bathroom window after talking to the air.

 Was the scene just now just an illusion? Jack thought about it carefully and shook his head. No, it was not an illusion. Eva was indeed looking at him in the video just now. I thought to myself that when I go back, I will go to the bathroom to see if I can find any details that I didn't notice before.

 Now it seems that the original owner of the body has not found the news of Eva's disappearance. It feels that the direction should be wrong. Now Jack only looks at this video.
