Chapter 24 Falling Scalp

In the cozy apartment of No. 8-2, Unit 1, Building 7, Jujiayuan Community, Peter and his wife Anna fell asleep on time at eleven o'clock as usual.

Rainy, who had been busy all day at the orphanage, waited until her parents fell asleep before quietly going into the bathroom and enjoying a warm hot bath. At the same time, she thoroughly washed her hair with the Picon shampoo she bought at the pharmacy today.

Following Jack's advice, she went directly to the pharmacy after completing her volunteer work. On the recommendation of the pharmacy clerk, she bought this Picon shampoo, which is said to effectively relieve scalp itching, hoping to improve her scalp condition.

Rainy was particularly careful when washing her hair. She massaged her scalp thoroughly to ensure that the medicine could be fully absorbed. After taking a shower, she blew her hair dry, quickly went to bed, half-lying and browsing her mobile phone for a while, and then turned off the lights to rest.

However, at about one o'clock in the morning, Rainy was awakened by the severe itching of her scalp in her sleep. She kept scratching her head unconsciously in her dream until her nails scratched her skin, and the pain woke her up completely.

She had never felt such a strong itch before, which made Rainy begin to suspect that there might be something wrong with the Picon shampoo. After waking up, the itch did not subside, but the itch at the back of her head became more intense, as if her scalp was about to be torn apart.

While scratching her head, she sat up from the bed, turned on the bedside lamp with sleepy eyes, and walked to the bathroom in the bedroom. Standing in front of the mirror, she carefully checked her scalp and found that it was not scratched, but the itch was still there.

Rainy felt her whole head numb, she didn't dare to scratch it anymore, but just patted the back of her head gently. Although she wanted to continue sleeping, the itch kept her from falling asleep.

Just then, she felt something fall off the back of her head, it seemed to be a strand of hair, or... scalp!

She reached out and grabbed it, and it was indeed a piece of scalp with hair attached. This piece of scalp was only the size of two fingernails, and it looked dry and lifeless.

Rainy was startled and quickly checked her hair, but found nothing abnormal, which made her feel a little relieved. She speculated that the fallen scalp and hair might be the result of natural metabolism, not alopecia or hair loss.

As a piece of scalp fell off, the itching gradually eased, and Rainy's uneasiness dissipated. She threw the fallen dry scalp and hair into the wastebasket next to the toilet in the bathroom, and then went back to sleep.

More than ten minutes later, in the darkness of the bathroom, the dry scalp in the wastebasket suddenly moved, and then slowly stretched out like a thin piece of dough.

Rainy woke up again in the middle of the night, this time because of a strange sound. She seemed to hear laughter, which was particularly clear in the silent night.

In a daze, Rainy turned over, but was soon awakened by the sound again. She was startled and opened her eyes suddenly, and there was darkness in front of her.

She immediately turned on the bedside lamp, and the pale yellow light came on. Although the light was not strong, it was enough to dispel the darkness around her. Rainy sat up and looked around the bed, but found nothing unusual.

She began to wonder if she had heard it wrong, but after careful recollection, she still felt that the sound was like someone laughing, clear and real.

She sat on the bed for a while and didn't hear any other sounds. The warm light gave Rainy some sense of security. She believed that she might be dreaming because she slept too deeply and took the sound in the dream as reality.

She picked up her phone and found that it was already four o'clock in the morning. Rainy, who originally wanted to continue sleeping, had to get up and go to the bathroom because her lower abdomen was slightly swollen.

As soon as she entered the bathroom, she seemed to hear a slight rustling sound, but as she walked in, the sound disappeared immediately. Rainy suspected that there might be rats or cockroaches in the bathroom and became a little frightened.

She stood at the door of the bathroom and checked carefully. The surroundings looked normal and there was nothing unusual. After hesitating for a while, she decided to go to the bathroom here instead of taking the risk of going to the bathroom in the living room to avoid waking up her parents.

After checking around again, Rainy mustered up the courage to walk to the toilet. When she sat down to relieve herself, she was still looking around to prevent any mice from suddenly running out. Especially under her feet, she was afraid that cockroaches would crawl up her feet.

Just as she looked down, her eyes accidentally swept across the wastebasket next to the toilet, and then her body trembled slightly. She remembered that she had thrown her dry scalp and long hair into the wastebasket before, but now she saw that the dry scalp was gone, and only a few hair tips of the long hair could be seen under the waste paper.

In such a short time, it is impossible for the scalp and hair to be buried by waste paper. After all, she has not thrown any paper into the wastebasket since then, so how could it be covered?

Is the mouse in the wastebasket?

Just as Rainy was guessing randomly, her eyes suddenly widened and she stared at the wastebasket without blinking. The waste paper covering the scalp and long hair began to move slowly, as if something was flipping up from below.

After a while, the waste paper covering the upper layer rolled to the sides of the wastebasket, and a lot of long black hair appeared under Rainy's eyes. The amount of these long hairs had obviously increased a lot, fluffy and messy, and it was no longer the strands she had thrown away at the beginning.

The long black hair slowly slid and turned up. This strange scene made Rainy's whole body stiff, her mind stagnated, and she was completely stunned.

She couldn't figure out why the hair she had thrown away had become so much, and it seemed that there was something under the hair!

About four or five seconds later, a lot of long hair turned over completely, and a white face appeared in front of Rainy.
