Yuta's excitement diverted him, and when the sand beneath his legs flared up, he slammed onto the the floor.
Ouch!
"I did it!"
When Yuta realised he had made progress and had taken a step, he couldn't contain his happiness. When he tried to recall how he accomplished it, he sat on the floor with his legs crossed.
Let's give it another trial.
He jolted off the floor and dusted the dust from his pants.
Okay, Yuta. Breath in…breath out. In and out. In and…out.
Slowly and methodically, the grains of sand assembled around Yuta's legs, while he consciously focused completely. He began to fly gently, inch by inch, from the earth as the sand grains transformed into a swirling whirlwind around his legs.
Yuta was astounded by his hard-earned improvement, but that was only the beginning; he had to visualise his own movement and demonstrate it. He concentrated on moving the sand that was circling his legs as he began to move.
He soared above the earth and circled the warehouse quickly in midair. Yuta then made a gentle, steady landing on the ground. Sweat began to pour from his body as he collapsed to his knees once more due to tiredness. After wiping his brows, he collapsed to the ground, face down.
Yuta could hear the pounding of his heartbeat, which seemed to be about to burst. As he strained to crawl to his backpack and unzip it, he realised he was out of water and tried to regulate his breathing, but it was impossible.
This is torture…
"Fuck!"
'Wait! Shouldn't I send my clone to get me a bottle of water from the mall?'
He tried to summon his clone with his quirk but it instantly flared up due to lack of stamina and strength.
Guess I'll have to go….
When Yuta discovered that nothing was amiss, he put on his shirt, left the warehouse, and looked around the region. Through the streets he went. He observed the city's splendour, the streets humming with people and lights, and the sub shun down upon the metropolis.
Yuta saw a gentleman in a gray suit sitting along the road reading a newspaper. "Excuse me sir. Do you know of any nearby mall where I can afford a bottle of water?"
The man blinked and closed the newspaper. "Sorry?"
Yuta put his hands behind his head again with a smile on his face and asked once more. "Do you know of any nearby mall where I can afford a bottle of water?"
The man cleared his throat. "Yes I do. Go straight ahead and take the right route to the street with a huge poster on the wall, then take the left route and you'll see a mall."
Yuta bowed and thanked the man. "Thank you very much sir."
Yuta turned after giving the man his thanks and started walking when the man called again.
"You better be careful, boy." The man in a gray suit gave him a warning and continued reading his newspaper.
"Thanks." Yuta waved at the man and continued his journey. He got to the street and turned right as the man instructed. Walking for a couple of minutes, he saw the street and took his left once more and walked for another couple of minutes and saw the mall straight ahead.
Thank God.
Yuta stormed into the mall after clearing his throat. He strolled over and picked up a little snack and a bottle of cold water. He approached the desk and made every effort to maintain a straight face and a kind smile so as not to give the impression that he was a weirdo or nerd.
"How much is it?"
The man picked the two bottles of water and the snacks as the machine read it and detailed the price. "190 yen. That's your bill, mister."
Yuta brought out his wallet and gave the man 190 yen and thanked him in a tired lazy tone. "Ok, thanks."
"Come visit again!" The man waved at Yuta who nodded reluctantly to him.
Yuta held the white lyon bag on his left arm as he started walking back to his solace—the warehouse. On his way going, eyes gleaming with tiredness and sweats streaming down his body, he felt disgusted.
He crashed into a man and quickly apologized while bowing his head when the man tried to threaten him but he kept apologizing.
"Brat, you gotta watch your road." The man snarled.
"I'm so sorry." Yuta kept it short and bowed when the man hissed and walked away with his left hand on his pocket while a girl with a cigarette on her lips was clinging onto the man's other hand.
Yuta made his way back to the abandoned warehouse and crashed into the floor breathing heavily. 'Damn! I'm exhausted from all the walking.' He opened the lyon and took the snack and a chill bottle of water. He ate and drank the water and rested for almost 30 minutes to stack up his energy to continue his training before going home.
When Yuta closed his eyes, sand particles whirled around his leg and lifted him off the ground and into the air. Still covering his face with his sand-solidified mask for his vigilante disguise.
In the process of dispersing the sand, he performed a front flip, sending a torrent of sand flying from his foot that slashed and leaves a scar on the warehouse's metal wall.
He summoned his clone, meanwhile, Yuta's energy was burning out rapidly. He sent a series of slashing sands towards the clone who guided himself with a sand wall. Yuta focused on offense why his clone focused on defense.
The clone managed to block a few of Yuta's attacks then the ones he couldn't would slice him in half and in that instance he'll regenerate. Yuta breathed heavily but still pushed himself past his limit in every single attack.
The next series of attacks he sent towards his clone sliced through the sand wall and sliced the clone in half as it flared up without regenerating any longer. Yuta knew he was at his peak right now when his legs started shaking.
His vision blurred at the instant, heart was aching and could hear the sound of his heartbeat. Is this the end? He questioned himself as he dropped down and passed out for a couple of hours.
He woke up due to his grumbling stomach and took the other bottle of water and rinsed his face while he drank the rest of it. He packaged all his belongings into his backpack and cleaned up the warehouse.
He exited his training ground and closed up the doors to the warehouse with the chains inside as he made his way home staggering. As he walked straight ahead to the crossroads to catch a ride, he noticed several children bullying other children with their quirks, but he ignored them. Only thing on his mind right now was to get home as quickly as possible.
He grabbed a cab to the closest subway station, purchased his ticket and boarded the train. The doors automatically opened for him when the train announced his destination after a few minutes.
He got to his neighborhood and cracked a little smile on his face so as not to look so pale. He got to his house and unlocked the door with his keys.
With a tired and lazy tone he exclaimed. "I'm home!"
He went straight up to his room and pulled off his clothes that smelled badly and hit the bathroom for a long hot bath. While in the shower, he reminisced about his workout in the warehouse and smiled when he flew with his quirk.
Hard work really pays.
He turned off the shower and cleaned his body while he exited the bathroom. He changed into his pajamas and proceeded to wash his dirty clothes in the laundry machine. For some minutes, he watched the clothing twirl while standing there. He removed his clothes and laid them out on the rooftop immediately the laundry machine stopped.
His nose piqued a unique scent coming from the kitchen while his stomach growled from hunger. He rushed to the dinning and took his seat waiting for his mom to dish him his food. He couldn't wait any longer when he began to drool which was so creepy.
Itadakimasu!!
Yuta said his thanks and rushed his delicious curry. He asked for a second and a third round to fill himself up. He let out a sigh when he reached his limit and thanked his mom again for the delicious curry.
He helped clean the dishes with his mom and made his way to his bedroom upstairs. He locked the door so he wouldn't be interrupted and jumped into his bed. With a beautiful smile on his face, he lay face up and gazed up at the stars outside his room window. Then, as exhaustion and sleepiness set in, Yuta fell asleep like a baby.
