Apex of destruction

Chapter 50: "Apex of destruction"

One thing about lightning is that it's akin with anger. It's volatile, raw, and one of the strongest forces, much like Pyrope Mode. But just as it burns bright, it consumes energy quickly, depleting mana at an alarming rate. Worse still, it takes a toll on the user's body, weakening muscles and risking catastrophic burns if not controlled. Aedric knew this all too well. He wasn't reckless, he played carefully.

Rather than unleashing his lightning right away, Aedric stuck to using his normal flames, keeping his movements measured. Opposite him, Kierian wasn't letting up either. They were at it for what felt like an eternity, exchanging colossal waves of fire, neither bothering to refine the shapes of their attacks. Flames surged toward each other, growing larger and more violent as they clashed, each combatant trying to gain ground.
