Chapter 66: "Claiming the pyropex"
The golems carried the group out of the depths, bringing them to the jagged rock they had first landed on when their ship broke apart. Finally, they could breathe again, free from the crushing pressure of the ocean and the overwhelming fear of the dragon's wrath. The eerie silence of the surface was broken only by the hiss of boiling water in the distance.
However, the relief was short-lived. The black dragon which had brought them earlier, had vanished. Most of the group lay unconscious, their bodies weakened by the ordeal and the water they had inadvertently taken in. Daelan, the only one still conscious, surveyed the group in exhaustion. Knowing the urgency of their situation, he knelt quickly beside Elyra, Knowing she could help all the bijins at once, his hands trembling as he carefully tilted her head back. He pressed her chest rhythmically.
